Jays24 Old-Timey Member Posted April 22, 2021 Posted April 22, 2021 That was quite the Vlad like route from last year by Jansen. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt that it was because of the wind.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted April 22, 2021 Posted April 22, 2021 Noice, 1 more. Shut it down kid.
saskjayfan Old-Timey Member Posted April 22, 2021 Posted April 22, 2021 Why is charlie making this move? It's 4 degrees out, you bring in a raw rookie when mayza is one out away. Why Charlie, Why?
Slade Old-Timey Member Posted April 22, 2021 Posted April 22, 2021 Seems like a strange move up 3 runs but it worked out.
Jays24 Old-Timey Member Posted April 22, 2021 Posted April 22, 2021 I hope one day we can win a game without me having heart attacks throughout.
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted April 22, 2021 Posted April 22, 2021 Charlie after he makes a pitching change...
BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted April 22, 2021 Posted April 22, 2021 Wow. That was not easy. Gutsy win for team. Great to take a W into the day off. Phew!
Slyfisher Verified Member Posted April 22, 2021 Posted April 22, 2021 Bet they're happy to be going back to Florida! Lol..
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted April 22, 2021 Posted April 22, 2021 Nice Biggio exercise those demons. Nice split by the Jays. Tampa's Next!
Jays24 Old-Timey Member Posted April 22, 2021 Posted April 22, 2021 Seems like a strange move up 3 runs but it worked out. He wanted every single player on the roster to get into the game. I think other than Payamps and Roark, everyone (hitter or pitcher) got into the game lol

Nothing against Tim Mayza, I like him, but do you really want him facing JD Martinez and Bogaerts as the tying runs with the handedness advantage? This move was fine especially with the off-day tomorrow, smart to play the matchup there when it doesn't cost you anything and Mayza was already at 20 pitches anyway.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted April 22, 2021 Posted April 22, 2021 I'm so jealous at seeing a real 3rd baseman make that play! Lol Ah yes, noted gold glover and defensive wiz Rafael Devers showing Biggio how it's done.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted April 22, 2021 Posted April 22, 2021 Royals walked off the Rays we're the only winner tonight in the east.

WryNGinger Verified Member Posted April 22, 2021 Posted April 22, 2021 Wow. I thought Rowdy's stat line was horrible...then I looked at Jansen's. Do either of these guys have a chance to turn things around or has the rest of the league just figured them out? Maybe Jansen needs to get his eyes checked again to see if his prescription has changed...

I'm willing to give him more time. Has Jansen ever had a prolonged period of success at the plate in the majors?

Has Jansen ever had a prolonged period of success at the plate in the majors? A few times, yes, if he could get to his projections that'd be great. Seriously though, DJ put on a catching clinic last night in blocking balls. Very impressive.

At one point we had multiple catchers that "everybody wanted" Seems like all of a sudden that's probably changed drastically

Has Jansen ever had a prolonged period of success at the plate in the majors? It sounds crazy but Jansen has a better lifetime WAR then Tellez. With his defense Jansen could be helpful if he can hit .200 (with a little bit of secondary skills)
