Red Sox are underrated and people don't realize how nasty Eovaldi is.

Definitely underrated/overachieving. I don’t think ANYONE would have picked them to win the division or even be in contention for it.

Don't know if anyone mentioned this but the Orioles selected the contract of Conner Greene. Just don't look at his AAA stats this year.

Liam Hendriks is going to be fun to watch in the playoffs when he takes the ball every single game.

That was something tonight, so impressive.

Lol...

As a one-time thing, this is somewhat amusing, but if it starts to become a trend it's going to get old and tired SO QUICKLY.

I'm pretty sure it would the second time he did it.

Nah, that's that team's gig... I saw it on Quick Pitch last night and found the tweet online, funny s***. I'm not sure if it's a regular thing.

Apparently the reason for Bader's breakout.... K rate cut in half.

It was revealed Sunday that Bader had offseason surgery to remove polyps from both nasal passages, something which has aided his vision and also his sleep.

Mariners are now 55-46 with a -49 run differential and 1 game back of the 2nd wildcard.

That's what happens when you're capable of winning close games. Jays have neither clutch pitching or clutch hitting.

Mariners have the best record in baseball in both 1-run games (23-8) and extra inning games (9-1).

So tell me - who's clutch on the M's?

How did the M's construct their clutch bullpen?

Paul Sewald - minor league contract

Drew Steckenrider - minor league contract

Kendall Graveman - declined his $3.5M option and signed him back on a $1.25M deal

JT Chargois - minor league contract

Erik Swanson - was part of the Paxton trade but Seattle was probably hoping that he could be a SP

Hector Santiago - minor league contract

Anthony Misiewicz - 18th round pick, traded away and then re-acquired for an international signing slot

The moral of the story is, I guess, to literally invest nothing in your bullpen.

I had a large polyp that made it hard to breathe in one of my passages which was removed during a septoplasty but I have no idea how it would possibly affect your vision.

Toronto had about as much luck as you could expect in their bullpen last season. Dolis, Bass, Hatch, Cole, and Borucki all had sparkling ERAs in high leverage roles despite not actually being good pitchers. This year it's Seattle's turn.

Well, it’s not a smart way to spend money on a budget but you’re accepting the volatility. So either you’re a big market team and buy them or you trade for controllable guys that project well. As an alternative to accepting volatility I mean. Or draft/develop them of course

Well of course you can miss, trying to think of Jays big trades like that. Sergio Santos, Jeremy Accardo, who am i missing

I'm sure when they were searching out guys to sign to minor league deals - they prioritized how 'clutch' they were. It's the new market inefficiency as all these advanced metric teams don't believe 'clutch' is real. The M's are so smrt.

Yes of course.

Really I was just making a point for those who might think the Mariners have done something different/better than the Blue Jays as far as roster/pen construction goes. The Mariners don't have clutch players, they are just getting lucky, very lucky, as far as reliever volatility goes. That's really all there is to it. Toronto on the other hand has been f***ed by bad pen luck (performance and health, although some of the health outcomes were known risks).
