Adames is a sick defender. I was not completely aware of this before the playoffs.

McCullers doesn't want to be taken out! Arguing with Dusty on the mound!

Controversy!! WOW!!

I think it's pretty dumb to take our your starter to matchup with the other teams number 9 hitter. Not to mention he probably isn't 100% either.

McCullers was at like 80 pitches anyway. The statistically correct move is probably to pull him before the 5th if Urquidy is available... so might as well take no chances and bring in the lefty.

At most McCullers is going 5 innings. Not worth any risk to try to milk one more inning out of him in a game 7. And he’s already given up two bombs!

Win or die, you empty the pen.

The narratives are strong tonight

The Mccullers pull is nothing compared to what Cash just did now. Muccullers had a few batters left tops. Morton was on his way to a complete game shut out. Lets see how it goes...

Well it worked there. I think they made the right call... I know his pitch count was low enough that he could have lasted another inning at least but it was his third time through the order and Tampa has some elite relief arms

Do these people not wonder how the team with the 3rd-lowest payroll in baseball is now an inning from winning the AL pennant?

Is there anything the Rays do as an org that is beneficial to players and/or anything you think players on the outside would find redeeming?

This take is so f***ing tired. They boost the careers of multiple players every single year.

How many of those players go on to get big contracts/money, from the Rays (lol) or someone else?

I know you nerds have never seen a baseball field in your lives but starters want to go deep into games when they are rolling. Hitters want to play everyday. The Rays don’t do anything that normal athletes would find appealing. Hence why a baseball player would feel that way about Cash in BTS’s post.

They identify players with limited skills sets and then use them precisely to squeeze every last drop of value out of them. If you're a guy who's just been DFA'd, TB is probably at the top of the list of teams you'd want to be claimed by.

Charlie Morton threw 195 innings last year. Almost 30 more than his previous career high. I'm guessing he's not upset about today's events.

Sure platoons, openers, 2nd time through the order, etc, likely maximizes productivity, but in this case, Cash removed a top of the rotation starter who was throwing a shutout on 60 pitches. That type of s*** is not something players on the outside are going to applaud.
