That's nutty. How much do we trust fangraphs' catcher metrics? Votto has a godly slashline and is one of the best hitters of his generation so that would probably make a better case to HoF voters than fWAR

 

Catcher fWAR is calculated with framing, Votto still might make the Hall, he's a f***ing stud.

He's changed his tune about only looking at 1-year deals, and is now saying he wants to win, wants to pitch every 4th day, and wants a team at the cutting edge of technology. He's probably also going to get like 250M. Hard to say how he'd perceive our odds of competing or our pitching infrastructure.

Luis Castillo's pitch tunneling is insane. The sinker and circle change are indistinguishable from one another and then he also has the nasty slider which starts along the same path and then breaks in the opposite direction. Disgusting pitch mix. Also helps that he'll run the sinker up to 98-99 with regular frequency.
