With no Bo or Biggio in the lineup it's sort of slim pickings for leadoff so Villar is probably fine.

Biggio probably needs a day off he’s been scuffling a bit and striking out a lot more. Although a few of them have been some ******** calls looking. He should still pinch hit in this game.

Biggio has also played every game up to this point I believe. Definitely good to give him a day off. Villar leadoff is fine I think. Don’t really like Shaw in the 5 spot. Charlie really wanted his L/R/L/R I guess

Villar has a .308 OBP this year... That's literally one point higher than Shaw. At that point, you're within the margin of error of having Jansen lead off.

 

Believe it or not, Villar has the fourth highest projected OBP among the starting lineup. So unless you want Vlad, Shaw or Panik leading off (the guys with higher projected OBPs), then Villar is actually the right choice. His career OBP is .327 and it was .339 last season in a much larger sample size than this year, unlike Panik and Shaw who have been awful for a couple of seasons in a row, so it's not actually that bad of a decision to have him lead off.
