Including, if I'm reading rhe box score correctly... Montoyo brought Yamaguchi into a blowout for mop up duty and got 2.2 scoreless inninga out of him? That actually happened?

 

Yamaguchi is far from being a high leverage reliever but he's the perfect mop up guy. Could probably give you a mediocre 4-5 inning spot start if you needed him to as well. I don't think he's as bad as his first couple of appearances, imagine introducing a guy like that to the big leagues in the 10th inning with a phantom runner on, he must have been confused as hell.

I’ve been pumping Biggio’s tires since before his debut. Him batting leadoff has definitely worked well in this small sample, they’ve never tried it down in the minors as Bichette and Davis were the leadoff guys. He came to the plate in some crucial ABs these past few days.
