Suggested in the offseason that Pearson follow an opener. Bring him in against the other team's weaker hitters. A little easier on the nerves. His lack of command is most likely that, nerves.

Danny's an athletic defensive catcher, but he botched that one. I'm sure I'm being a bit unfair with a runner barreling down at you, but if he just sells out and focuses on the catch it's an easy out.

Yup, he was more worried about protecting the plate than he was catching the ball.

 

Didn't think there would be a chance at a play there. What a throw.
