Corporal Valdal Verified Member Posted August 15, 2020 Posted August 15, 2020 Most of the glen lines... fiddich, livet, morangie etc... Those are some great drams. I'm more of a peat head myself. Lagavulin, Talisker, Ardbeg
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted August 15, 2020 Posted August 15, 2020 Those are some great drams. I'm more of a peat head myself. Lagavulin, Talisker, Ardbeg Yeah, I edited the post above. Better than any of that s*** they called vodka, lol. Morangie's my fave!
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted August 15, 2020 Posted August 15, 2020 What are some of your favorites ? The Macallan, Aberfeldy or Glenlivet if I'm cheaping out a bit. Not that I can drink any of it anymore :'(
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted August 15, 2020 Posted August 15, 2020 crap big error Not an error, but definitely a f***up.
Corporal Valdal Verified Member Posted August 15, 2020 Posted August 15, 2020 The Macallan, Aberfeldy or Glenlivet if I'm cheaping out a bit. Not that I can drink any of it anymore :'( Macallan is very hit or miss with me. Its the Porsche of the scotch world. Flashy and great marketing but is just so plain compared to the price point. The most I've spent is $144 for the Lagavulin 16. Anything Macallan over 12 years old is over $150+ easy
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted August 15, 2020 Posted August 15, 2020 The Macallan, Aberfeldy or Glenlivet if I'm cheaping out a bit. Not that I can drink any of it anymore :'( Sorry pal, you've given me some of your best, perfection.
Corporal Valdal Verified Member Posted August 15, 2020 Posted August 15, 2020 Yeah, I edited the post above. Better than any of that s*** they called vodka, lol. Morangie's my fave! Honestly, it really is. I drank vodka for many years but scotch is just so much better and I drink it neat too

Anything Macallan over 12 years old is over $150+ easy It's actually really hard to find "age" Macallan these days, I had a bottle of 18, and a "whisky maker's edition". I don't like peaty scotch personally, so Lagavulin I've only had one bottle of. I have a 21 year old Aberfeldy, and it's just incredible. Most expensive bottle I have is "Johnny Walker Blue - King George the V Edition". It was a gift, but I cannot justify drinking something that cost over $500 for the bottle, so it's unopened, even though I've had it over 10 years
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted August 15, 2020 Posted August 15, 2020 Stomach problems? That sucks brother sorry man Heart problems, so even worse
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted August 15, 2020 Posted August 15, 2020 Honestly, it really is. I drank vodka for many years but scotch is just so much better and I drink it neat too Most alcoholics use vodka for sobriety job insurance, mainly the scent. Dumb.
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted August 15, 2020 Posted August 15, 2020 Honestly, it really is. I drank vodka for many years but scotch is just so much better and I drink it neat too I don't enjoy alcohol if it's not cold, I have some scotch rocks and drink it "on the rocks" literally.

The prices they have are literally insane. Macallan 15 is $199 and I can get some 21 years old for that easily. Most stores run out of stock very quickly I find. I have heard the Editions, mainly the 3 and 4 have been very good. Yeah I use to hate it, but slowly fell in love with it. I just love the meat, oak, and brine taste so very much. That Aberfeldy sounds mighty tasty Ive tried Loch Lomond 18 and it was very good until I get under halfway through the bottle and it got rantcy and horrid. Yeah, so yum do you want to sell me that bottle hahha. I love Johnnie Walker Green Label 15 years old. Its honestly one of the best values at the LCBO at $82. I've always wanted to try the Blue Label
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted August 15, 2020 Posted August 15, 2020 I tried, lol. I leave it at my parents house so none of my friends get drunk and open it because they're idiots...
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted August 15, 2020 Posted August 15, 2020 Drury got a hit. Do you believe in miracles?
Corporal Valdal Verified Member Posted August 15, 2020 Posted August 15, 2020 I don't enjoy alcohol if it's not cold, I have some scotch rocks and drink it "on the rocks" literally. I drank vodka and soda on rocks. My scotch is in a Glencairn glass and always neat

I've always wanted to try the Blue Label The giant LCBO in Oshawa (it is, or was at least, the biggest LCBO in Ontario) has a really decent scotch section, but prices are pretty crazy. Since it started becoming popular in China, prices went up and availability went down everywhere... The King George V is extra special even for blue. The packaging for it is a thing of beauty on its own. And no, not for sale right now... Was considering opening it for my wedding, but now that I'm not allowed to drink, I don't really know what my plans are for that...
