So, is holding the runner on at first from like 2' away a thing now?

Statistically, it strengthens the defence around the bag without losing pick off positioning.

I haven’t seen Alford hit a ball hard in years. Apparently hes hit some homeruns in Spring Training though.

I remember when he first time he came up and was hitting booming drives into the gaps in Milwaukee. What the f*** happened to that.

Alford and Borucki did a free kids camp in Calgary last winter. The guy was a gem with the kids. Pulling for him to stay healthy and get it going...with us.

Got a link to the analysis, mate?

No link, sorry. When I was coaching, there was a small crew from the Canadian Baseball Academy that would visit different team practices and give us a demonstration and explanation on how it betters the defense around the bag. On pick off attempts, you drop the tag on the runner's torso while you obviously gain a step on ground balls in the hole.

You remember names?

I'd like to see Jansen move the glove a little bit less back there. He's trying to frame strikes "better" than they already are, and I think it's confusing the ump.

Lol Teoscar, with the way he played that you would have thought the ball was foul by 20 feet. But seriously nice play though.

I can't remember their names, but it happened two years in a row during the Nationals.

Cool, coach, lol. I know some of those guys.
