saskjayfan Old-Timey Member Posted July 30, 2020 Posted July 30, 2020 Vlad needs to drop down in the lineup.
el duque Verified Member Posted July 30, 2020 Posted July 30, 2020 Send him to Rochester to get in shape and change his launch angle. Hire his own personal trainer and nutritionist. If he wants to eat a lot fine. Just make sure it’s healthy. Sound a good idea but are minor leagues actually on now
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted July 30, 2020 Posted July 30, 2020 I’m sorry but Vlad Jr f***ing sucks I can't imagine what you would be saying about Acuna, Yelich, etc right now lmao
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted July 30, 2020 Posted July 30, 2020 Sound a good idea but are minor leagues actually on now I think they are doing a couple simulated games but that's it
Barkerfan23 Verified Member Posted July 30, 2020 Posted July 30, 2020 Vlad needs to drop down in the lineup. ideal candidate to go back to AAA if we had one
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted July 30, 2020 Posted July 30, 2020 Sound a good idea but are minor leagues actually on now It doesn’t matter if minor leagues are going on right now or not. They are playing scrimmages everyday apparently at the alternate sight. Playing major league games isn’t going to help him when hes out of shape and drilling everything in the ground. He needs to make a swing adjustment probably better to do that not at this level during the season. Like I said before maybe tough love is what he needs. If nothing else you’re sending a message.
5minutesforframing Verified Member Posted July 30, 2020 Posted July 30, 2020 Jays need to stop babying him before he eats himself into irrelevance.

Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted July 30, 2020 Posted July 30, 2020 I can't imagine what you would be saying about Acuna, Yelich, etc right now lmao I have nothing to say about them because they are proven major league hitters with a track record. Vlad is not. Vlad is not just off to a slow start he has a major swing issue that’s resulting in extreme ground ball numbers. If he was hitting fly balls for outs people would be less concerned. Everything gets drilled into the ground.

Everything gets drilled into the ground. They are putrid trash right now along with like 80% of MLB stars. It's Spring Training 2.0, but the games count. After a month we will start to see timing and ABs back to where they should be...deal with it. In the meantime Vlad needs to get the launch angle up. Unless our couches suck, I assume they are working on it
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted July 30, 2020 Posted July 30, 2020 Really like what I'm seeing from Hatch.
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted July 30, 2020 Posted July 30, 2020 Wouldn’t be surprised if Hatch ends up taking Thornton’s rotation spot long term.
Barkerfan23 Verified Member Posted July 30, 2020 Posted July 30, 2020 Brandon Drury has sucjed for a very long time
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted July 30, 2020 Posted July 30, 2020 I love how the are two polar opposite sides to this Fatty Guerrero Jr debate. "He's a f***ing fat, no defense, groundball machine" Vs. "Eat s***. He's only 21, learning a new position, in the hardest League in the world" And neither side will even entertain for a second that the other side has an argument to be made.
saskjayfan Old-Timey Member Posted July 30, 2020 Posted July 30, 2020 man....could be 5 to 4....drury deserved a hit.
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted July 30, 2020 Posted July 30, 2020 Now that’s a launch angle Vlad. Take note.
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted July 30, 2020 Posted July 30, 2020 Now that’s a launch angle Vlad. Take note. 3-1 90 MPH fastball down the middle
Ex Player Verified Member Posted July 30, 2020 Posted July 30, 2020 That's a darn near perfect swing by Biggio

He needs to lose weight or convert more to muscle thats not really debatable, his defense has been good at 1B for the most part, his launch angle has never been high. It does need to change to reach the potential he has

Willing to be patience with his Defence. Actually felt hes been mostly fine. The mistakes hes made can be corrected with experience like learning when to go for the ball and when to retreat to the base. Thought his hands have looked great around the base. Picked some balls in the dirt without issues so far.
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted July 30, 2020 Posted July 30, 2020 3-1 90 MPH fastball down the middle Who gives a s*** the swing was good and that’s the point.
saskjayfan Old-Timey Member Posted July 30, 2020 Posted July 30, 2020 f***...this game's over due to rain...
Grant77 Old-Timey Member Posted July 30, 2020 Posted July 30, 2020 This would be an appropriate time to use Gaviglio or Yamaguchi.
Ex Player Verified Member Posted July 30, 2020 Posted July 30, 2020 Maybe a rain delay will put us out of our misery
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted July 30, 2020 Posted July 30, 2020 The worst part of a rain delay or rainout right now is no Baseball until Tuesday for the Jays. I’m just hoping we get a notification that the Jays will be playing somewhere. Whether its the Nationals, Rays, or Orioles. We have options. 4 teams without hour of each other currently. 2 of which aren’t scheduled to play. Lets figure something out.
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted July 30, 2020 Posted July 30, 2020 Who gives a s*** the swing was good and that’s the point. So you didn't read lol
BallsDeep Verified Member Posted July 30, 2020 Posted July 30, 2020 Vlad is just too heavy right now.
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted July 30, 2020 Posted July 30, 2020 So you didn't read lol Tell me what I missed?
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted July 30, 2020 Posted July 30, 2020 Good news is that if Vladdy hits that exact same ball when they're at Fenway next, it's outta there...
Arjun Nimmala Vancouver Canadians - A+ SS It's been slow going at the start of the season for Nimmala, but on Sunday, he was 3-for-5 with his 3rd home run and 3 RBI. Explore Arjun Nimmala News >
