Pinkfloid Verified Member Posted July 24, 2020 Posted July 24, 2020 It was dead quiet at Fenway so this is 100% on the Trop's sound guy. You're probably right. It's pretty bad, lol.
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted July 24, 2020 Posted July 24, 2020 I didn't know that actually. Are you sure? I like the little elements like the organ music and the "fan interaction" stuff. I do recall an interview on the FAN a month or so ago with an audio engineer who basically said he was working on getting fan noise right in order to make the games with no fans feel more "normal". I figured Sportsnet was overlaying their own noise over the PA stuff from the stadium. No the people working at the Rays stadium are pumping in the crowd noise. It will happen in every MLB Stadium. As they just said on the broadcast.
BlueRocky Old-Timey Member Posted July 24, 2020 Author Posted July 24, 2020 Good start by Ryu. First K as a Jay!
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted July 24, 2020 Posted July 24, 2020 My heart gave out, I can't have alcohol or sodium anymore... That extends back to your birthday, huh?
rydermike Verified Member Posted July 24, 2020 Posted July 24, 2020 I see the Rays didn't bother with putting cardboard cutouts in the stands
saskjayfan Old-Timey Member Posted July 24, 2020 Posted July 24, 2020 man Rowdy just missed that one...just got under it by a hair
Pinkfloid Verified Member Posted July 24, 2020 Posted July 24, 2020 No the people working at the Rays stadium are pumping in the crowd noise. It will happen in every MLB Stadium. As they just said on the broadcast. Yep. Just heard that too. Thanks for guiding me towards the truth.
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted July 24, 2020 Posted July 24, 2020 That extends back to your birthday, huh? I've been sick since the end of January to varying degrees, but the diagnosis is relatively recent (though, they said no alcohol anymore sometime in May...)
saskjayfan Old-Timey Member Posted July 24, 2020 Posted July 24, 2020 I see the Rays didn't bother with putting cardboard cutouts in the stands the Rays don't crowd noise...they just need that one fan that chirped all game long and was completely audible because they don't get any fans anyways.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted July 24, 2020 Posted July 24, 2020 Grichuk is looking very patient and dangerous at the plate from what i’ve seen this year. Would be huge if he could give us a good offensive season
rydermike Verified Member Posted July 24, 2020 Posted July 24, 2020 The Rays third base coach picked up the ball point to the stands and pretended to throw it lol
TheHurl Site Manager Posted July 24, 2020 Posted July 24, 2020 It was dead quiet at Fenway so this is 100% on the Trop's sound guy. yeah it's mandated by the league but the Rays are changing volumes and using real scenarios. As I said most Rays thing ever...everything is decided in a boardroom
Ex Player Verified Member Posted July 24, 2020 Posted July 24, 2020 I see the Rays didn't bother with putting cardboard cutouts in the stands Using CGI would be much quicker, easier and cheaper to do
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted July 24, 2020 Posted July 24, 2020 Margot nearly injured himself on that first changeup.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted July 24, 2020 Posted July 24, 2020 the Rays don't crowd noise...they just need that one fan that chirped all game long and was completely audible because they don't get any fans anyways. it's coming. They brought him in yesterday to cut some sound bites. It's actually a really loud stadium though. They just don't usually have fans there.
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted July 24, 2020 Posted July 24, 2020 Bichette getting lots of work in today... Looking smooth and solid. Think he might stick at short, guys!
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted July 24, 2020 Posted July 24, 2020 Soft contact for days He's so crafty and efficient. Like a rich man's Mark Buehrle.
rydermike Verified Member Posted July 24, 2020 Posted July 24, 2020 Using CGI would be much quicker, easier and cheaper to do The cutouts are for the players to see I thought though
BlueRocky Old-Timey Member Posted July 24, 2020 Author Posted July 24, 2020 He's so crafty and efficient. Like a rich man's Mark Buerhle. So.. Greg Maddux 2.0?
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted July 24, 2020 Posted July 24, 2020 Joe West can't handle these Charlie Morton curves, he's giving up half way.
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted July 24, 2020 Posted July 24, 2020 Just noticed that the MLB logo on the mound says BLM. Has anyone checked on Boxy to see if he's rage stroked out because of that?
bones10 Old-Timey Member Posted July 24, 2020 Posted July 24, 2020 He's so crafty and efficient. Like a rich man's Mark Buehrle. Id make that exact comparison just from a strictly pitching perspective, but Ryu has had some serious problems staying healthy which is completely unlike Buehrle.
Ex Player Verified Member Posted July 24, 2020 Posted July 24, 2020 The cutouts are for the players to see I thought though I'm not sure, but in La Liga they have CGI fans plus sound effects (players cant see the CGI), and I actually kinda forgot those werent real fans after about an hour so. SerieA has no CGI and no sound effects, and that looks a lot worse IMO
