CBlake Verified Member Posted April 15, 2020 Posted April 15, 2020 RIP Damaso, the second member of the '85 Jays we have lost in recent months after Tony. I know Damaso has has not been in the greatest of health for year. I hope he has found peace. https://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/29038959/former-blue-jays-2b-damaso-garcia-dies-63
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2020 Posted April 16, 2020 RIP, Damaso Garcia, loved watching him with Tony.
Tacoma Verified Member Posted April 17, 2020 Posted April 17, 2020 So sad, first Fernandez then Garcia - gone too soon. I recall Garcia was one of the key players who helped the Jays evolve from it's expansion era beginnings into a perennial winning team in the mid-80's that eventually led to the Championships in the early 90's. RIP. I read a good article from CBC that recaps nicely his days with the Jays: https://www.cbc.ca/sports/baseball/mlb/damaso-garcia-dead-blue-jays-mlb-1.5533138
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted April 27, 2020 Posted April 27, 2020 Damaso was the best soccer player in our country. In the end he decided to play baseball. He was in bed for his illness
AdamGreenwood Old-Timey Member Posted April 27, 2020 Posted April 27, 2020 Damn, the entire middle infield of my dream team.

Yuniesky Betancourt came to mind, but he wasn't quite there with the batting average.
