Beans Verified Member Posted March 17, 2020 Posted March 17, 2020 (edited) I watched Moneyball last night. How are you guys getting your baseball fix now that the season has been postponed? Edited March 18, 2020 by Beans
Carlos Danger Old-Timey Member Posted March 17, 2020 Posted March 17, 2020 You should watch Draft day, it might make you feel better
Carlos Danger Old-Timey Member Posted March 18, 2020 Posted March 18, 2020 It's about a GM who went against the grain, the owner wanted to fire him, almost had the coach quit, was called stupid and told he didn't know what he was doing. However, it all worked out in the end and he proved to them he knew what he was doing.. Feliz fin You might like it;)
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted March 18, 2020 Posted March 18, 2020 You guys should pick a team and watch Marbula One. The Greenstone GP was a thriller.
JaysAllMighty Old-Timey Member Posted March 18, 2020 Posted March 18, 2020 Got the new OOTP21 baseball simulation game just released yesterday. It's going to keep me busy for many hours. The 3D animation play is getting better with each new release and this year they introduce a Ballpark Constructor Kit:
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted March 18, 2020 Posted March 18, 2020 Hopefully we start seeing replays of past World Series. Start with 1992.
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted March 18, 2020 Posted March 18, 2020 There's been an increase in masturbation around the world.

The only reason I watched it was because I was on a plane. The trade values were so unrealistic it was just constant eye rolling. Spoiler alert for those who shouldn't waste their time: The guy gets offered the first overall pick for his first (7th overall), a future first and a third, which he ponders and says no to. An hour later he wants to re-negotiate the deal and the other team says the price went up to 3 firsts, which for whatever reason he then accepts because he think he'll get fired if he doesn't. The whole idea was to trade up and draft this star generational QB, but the GM says last minute that because nobody attended the kids birthday party that he must not have friends so he doesn't draft him and instead drafts the problem child linebacker who was slated to be a reach even at 7, their original draft slot. Now they have to pay him way more. They then trade for the 6th pick for 3 2nd rounders and then trade back one spot to 7th for 2 future firsts and a punt returner.. -And if we are keeping track here, Seattle the original team with 1st overall traded back to 7th for 2 additional firsts, and then gave those firsts right back to Cleveland to move up one spot to 6th lol. They end up taking an RB with the pick because his dad played for the browns. Taking an RB in the top 10 in is just extremely dumb to begin with. The whole idea was to draft this QB to "save football in Cleveland" and instead they reached on a LB and an RB giving up 3 future 2nd's in the process, and if we know anything about the Browns they would have won 2-4 games the following three seasons. Movie sucked.

BlueRocky Old-Timey Member Posted March 18, 2020 Posted March 18, 2020 Funny I also rewatched moneyball two days ago on Netflix. Anyone bought MLB The Show 20?
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted March 18, 2020 Posted March 18, 2020 I love Moneyball - it's on my list of movies I watch almost every time I see it on TV.
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted March 19, 2020 Posted March 19, 2020 Watched BASEketball. Didn’t fill the void.
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted March 19, 2020 Posted March 19, 2020 Can't we have a virtual, monte carlo simulation approach to keep fantasy baseball going.
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted March 19, 2020 Posted March 19, 2020 Can't we have a virtual, monte carlo simulation approach to keep fantasy baseball going. Simulate a video baseball game to replicate the numbers. I saw people were doing this for March Madness.

glory Old-Timey Member Posted March 19, 2020 Posted March 19, 2020 Major League 1, Field of Dreams, and Moneyball would be my favorite baseball movies.
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted March 19, 2020 Posted March 19, 2020 This list is also missing Fever Pitch.
z3r0s Old-Timey Member Posted March 19, 2020 Posted March 19, 2020 I'm defs not much of a rom-com type of guy, but that movie had enough baseball that I enjoyed it. Plus good chemistry between likable leads helps.

Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted March 27, 2020 Posted March 27, 2020 Spanky can not hold his liquor If he drank as much as a normal person, he'd be fine. Spanky drinks enough for 10 men. I've seen it with my own eyes, it's astounding.
