EastCoaster Verified Member Posted February 11, 2020 Posted February 11, 2020 Former Blue Jays pitcher Mike Bolsinger is suing the Houston Astros saying their sign stealingscheme is the reason that his career was cut short. He claims after an outing in Houston in August 2017 game he gave up 4 runs in relief which lead to his release and his career.

wilko Old-Timey Member Posted February 11, 2020 Posted February 11, 2020 I don't think the Astros are the reason Bolsinger is no longer in the MLB.

IMO this is exactly what this is about. Someone has approached Bolsinger and convinced him to sue so that details can come out which would never be revealed any other way. Bolsinger has already talked about the money going to charity, which keeps him out of the cash grab discussions for the most part. He made $1.7M in Japan last year. He'd still be Arb 1 if he played in the MLB in 2018 and 2019. He's lost nothing financially. He has zero chance at winning, so there is something else about it.
