bones10 Old-Timey Member Posted December 23, 2019 Posted December 23, 2019 Holy s***, I didn't think it'd happen. Should we start preparing now for his inevitable injury....
Chappy Community Moderator Posted December 23, 2019 Posted December 23, 2019 OMFG!! It’s happening!!!!
BTS Community Moderator Posted December 23, 2019 Posted December 23, 2019 Holy f***. Atkins and crew are having a very good offseason all of a sudden.
Slade Old-Timey Member Posted December 23, 2019 Posted December 23, 2019 Honestly this is f***ing sick. Ryu Roark Shoemaker Anderson Thorton Then a ton of guys who need innings too. Should be a much better season.
Chappy Community Moderator Posted December 23, 2019 Posted December 23, 2019 Ryu is a stud. He was an ace last year. If he averages 120 IP a year he likely provides surplus. Very good signing. No one can say this front office hasn’t signed anyone anymore. Solid move considering the financial flexibility moving forward.
Chappy Community Moderator Posted December 23, 2019 Posted December 23, 2019 Holy f***. Atkins and crew are having a very good offseason all of a sudden. Offseason not done yet. Could be more to come. Wouldn’t be surprised to see at least one more unexpected move. Do they dare try to go for Price as well? Financially all of this fits in well moving forward.
Ray Verified Member Posted December 23, 2019 Posted December 23, 2019 Adding Edwin would be the cherry on top!
jaysguy44 Old-Timey Member Posted December 23, 2019 Posted December 23, 2019 Give me a OF next, Castellanos or Ozuna
Chappy Community Moderator Posted December 23, 2019 Posted December 23, 2019 Adding Edwin would be the cherry on top! I’d rather gamble on price contract and try to gear towards a wild card spot. The timing of the dollars works well with all the younger players.

Should be a much better season. I like where we stand with the rotation now. It's not going to win us the division or anything, but it's a reliable group that will still allow our more promising youngsters (Thornton, Kay, Pearson) to develop. It was extremely important to show our young players that we are serious about winning and at least give them a fighting chance at a WC spot if a lot of stuff goes well. I think if we add another bat and a couple of relievers then Shatkins will be deserving of an A grade.

Chappy Community Moderator Posted December 23, 2019 Posted December 23, 2019 Still does in July too. Absolutely I agree, however, adding Price now pushes arms to the pen and pretty much sets the focus on adding one more outfielder or just gambling with what we have. Payroll wise adding Price and Ryu sells a ton of tickets. Add in some nostalgia like EE (who can contribute), and the casuals follow the bat signal.
Chappy Community Moderator Posted December 23, 2019 Posted December 23, 2019 F U Ryu deniers/haters! What happens when Giles closes for Ryu? Do we all hit PS?

jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted December 23, 2019 Posted December 23, 2019 I feel like some Korean BBQ now! Merry Christmas to all Jays fans from Mark Shapiro and Ross Atkins!
RobinThicc Verified Member Posted December 23, 2019 Posted December 23, 2019 Good job getting it done. Rotation looks much better.
BTS Community Moderator Posted December 23, 2019 Posted December 23, 2019 The 40-man is full now, and the most obvious dead weight is the out of options bench players (Urena, Valera, and to a lesser extent Alford). I’d like to see the acquisition of MLB caliber players that push these guys out. A legit super utility guy who can play short and another MLB OF would fit very well. Brock Holt would be a nice addition.

Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted December 23, 2019 Posted December 23, 2019 Ryu and Ken you banana. lol... I still don't follow?!
Chappy Community Moderator Posted December 23, 2019 Posted December 23, 2019 lol... I still don't follow?! I think it’s time I admit I’m heavily intoxicated. I was at the raptors game. I tried to make a joke that made sense in my intoxicated state. I was refereeing to street fighter. I know you are wise and was hoping you would catch on. At this point my only option is to dabble in the crown Apple...and my giant bag of m&m’s
Chappy Community Moderator Posted December 23, 2019 Posted December 23, 2019 Financially it’s a great deal for the jays given where the likely contracts will be for the younger players. I still think adding Price could boost this team and set us up for a huge run of success.

aselvana Verified Member Posted December 23, 2019 Posted December 23, 2019 this forum deserves a winner, im happy for you guys.
Chappy Community Moderator Posted December 23, 2019 Posted December 23, 2019 What a game to be at! The entire game was a yawn fest and for some reason I stayed and witnessed history. I know leads are not safe in the nba but 23 into the fourth should do it and yet 90% of people stayed to witness history.
