They had some MLB chick on am590 and she said there's a lot more issues going on with Sanchez than his blisters. She wouldnt elabroate on what that was though. Could be some kind of anxiety issue or some other personal problems

lol... yeah, you know the shoulder surgery.

What the f***? He's got Fisher for many years at basically zero dollars, and that's a problem?

The problem is how hard Shatkins went after a player who is terrible.

f***, I really hope you have a better 3rd post, because your first two have been REALLY stupid.

People were to quick to bash the stroman trade. We could up winning that trade handily.

It's already over as far as I can tell. First round knockout for your Toronto Blue Jays, with every single "industry consensus" fan cheering against them.

Still think they should have squeezed out another piece and so do you. Looks like it's working out pretty swell so far, though.

I thought that at the time but it's hard to in hindsight, given how all three pitchers have performed since the trade.

Yeah I felt the Jays should have gotten another piece (or two) in addition to Kay and SWR. Hence why the consensus of the deal was "light", not "bad". Of course if Kay and SWR prove to be very good, then the deal will look a lot better in hindsight.

I'm not the brightest mind, here but man Kay looked good in his first start. Like middle of the rotation starter good. I dont think he will ever be anything more than a no.3 but he definately looked to be better than every other starter we have had this season (save Stroman, and I am not sure if Borucki pitched at all this year)

Early results are good. Mets need to be on speed dial in case they want to double down this offseason.

Yup. Find the clown GM and form a relationship with that team as long as he is there. BVV is without question going to double down this winter to win in 2020. They need pen help and we have Giles. Something can be done there.

Being a good negotiator and good talent evaluator are two different things. Atkins might have the second trait which helps to offset the lack of the first but that still doesn't excuse him not having it. At that point in time, the consensus was that he overpaid. If he was dancing like some dude standing outside a public stall waiting to take a major leak at the chance to get those two guys, it's not a good thing. Instead of being happy with Atkins, the team should be aiming for Cashman-level of outcomes.

Aha.

So it's not enough to win the trade. A GM must be so far ahead of his peers that he also wins every trade in context, and a GM must be so far ahead of his peers that he wins every trade emphatically.

If Atkins can't win all of his trades EMPHATICALLY, IN CONTEXT, AND IN HINDSIGHT, then he might as well pick up his little balls and go home. Amirite?

I'm find with being wrong about the trade. I was wrong about the Bautista trade, for example.

You were a big Guillermo Quiróz booster?

I was thinking it was Robinson Diaz

You're probably right, I was going from memory and I knew it was a catcher who went on to have a negligible career.

The era of Blue Jays catchers of the future that ended up being absolute trash: Diaz, Quiroz, Curtis Thigpen, Kevin Cash, JPA. All hyped, all complete dumpster fires.

Yup. Liked his reports and thought the Jays gave up too much for who was, at the time, a meh utility player. I'm glad to be wrong about that one.
