Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted July 18, 2019 Posted July 18, 2019 He'd probably average 130 walks a year with a robotic strike zone. I'm 100% in favour of finding out.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted July 18, 2019 Posted July 18, 2019 It may have been a ball just barely but that pitch is just too close to take for Smoak.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted July 18, 2019 Posted July 18, 2019 It may have been a ball just barely but that pitch is just too close to take for Smoak. It was a ball, but he was gifted one earlier in the at-bat. Too close to take. As far as the umps go, if you're gonna make a bad call, don't have rabbit ears.
Ex Player Verified Member Posted July 18, 2019 Posted July 18, 2019 There's no way he's more than 190 BR has him listed at 200lbs, which is laughable
Ex Player Verified Member Posted July 18, 2019 Posted July 18, 2019 That was our chance to win the game
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted July 18, 2019 Posted July 18, 2019 FG has Biggio at 200 lbs, and Vladito at 200 lbs. Suspect.
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted July 18, 2019 Posted July 18, 2019 10 pitch AB = good. Striking out when 0/10 pitches were in the zone = bad.
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted July 18, 2019 Posted July 18, 2019 10 pitch AB = good. Striking out when 0/10 pitches were in the zone = bad. Lol exactly. It was the worst, good at bat I've ever seen.
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted July 18, 2019 Posted July 18, 2019 Come on Giles! Throw a good inning here
tbad Verified Member Posted July 18, 2019 Posted July 18, 2019 Lol exactly. It was the worst, good at bat I've ever seen. Those breaking balls are f***in nasty tho... hard to take
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted July 18, 2019 Posted July 18, 2019 I wonder if it's the odd Fenway camera angle, but Giles' slider is sweeping more than usual as opposed to the more common 12-6 ish movement that we're used to seeing from him.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted July 18, 2019 Posted July 18, 2019 FG has Biggio at 200 lbs, and Vladito at 200 lbs. Suspect. MLB lists Biggio at 200 and Vladdy at 250. Here's the respective pages if you're interested: Vladdy: https://statsapi.mlb.com/api/v1/people/665489/ Biggio: https://statsapi.mlb.com/api/v1/people/624415/
bones10 Old-Timey Member Posted July 18, 2019 Posted July 18, 2019 Montoya actually broke giles just in time for the deadline
LGBJ29 Verified Member Posted July 18, 2019 Posted July 18, 2019 his stuff looks fine, a couple singles and a walk isnt ideal but this could be worse
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted July 18, 2019 Posted July 18, 2019 his stuff looks fine, a couple singles and a walk isnt ideal but this could be worse Does he look like he's laboring to anyone else? Or is it just me? Seems to be hanging his arm a lot and taking extra time between pitches but I could be seeing things.
Slade Old-Timey Member Posted July 18, 2019 Posted July 18, 2019 It's no big deal, he just has to show he is back to his dominant self between now and July 31st, oh and hopefully not hit the IL.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted July 18, 2019 Posted July 18, 2019 Nice play by Vladito, saved a run.
JFD Old-Timey Member Posted July 18, 2019 Posted July 18, 2019 FG has Biggio at 200 lbs, and Vladito at 200 lbs. Suspect. Muscle weighs more than fat /s
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted July 18, 2019 Posted July 18, 2019 his stuff looks fine, a couple singles and a walk isnt ideal but this could be worse His command is off a bit, but that's to be expected. I'd like to see some more 98's though. His fastball seems to have sat at 96 that inning.
jaysguy44 Old-Timey Member Posted July 18, 2019 Posted July 18, 2019 Good recovery by Giles, couple big pitches to 2 elite hitters.
glory Old-Timey Member Posted July 18, 2019 Posted July 18, 2019 Hopefully Giles is healthy enough to pitch tomorrow and Friday.
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted July 18, 2019 Posted July 18, 2019 Hopefully Giles is healthy enough to pitch tomorrow and Friday. Will need him to protect a 3 run deficit.
tbad Verified Member Posted July 18, 2019 Posted July 18, 2019 Amazing game from Teoscar. He definitely has flashes, but dude will never be consistent...
