Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted July 2, 2019 Author Posted July 2, 2019 And Devers hits a 2 run shot.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted July 2, 2019 Author Posted July 2, 2019 Yes, Omar.... make life miserable to the Bosox.
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted July 2, 2019 Posted July 2, 2019 That's gotta be an error on Biggio there...
JFD Old-Timey Member Posted July 2, 2019 Posted July 2, 2019 The Sox are looking to lay the smack down after getting smacked down by the Yanks. This could be an ugly series.
glory Old-Timey Member Posted July 2, 2019 Posted July 2, 2019 Thornton threw like 80 pitches in two innings in his last start didn’t he? He needs the AS break.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted July 2, 2019 Author Posted July 2, 2019 30 pitches is fine though 4 outs according to Buck. What in the world...
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted July 2, 2019 Author Posted July 2, 2019 This stuff is kind of morbid, but essential, I guess.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted July 2, 2019 Author Posted July 2, 2019 Base hit would be nice, Vladito! You can go yard, bro!
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted July 3, 2019 Posted July 3, 2019 Price got away with one, and you could see he knew it too.
BlueRocky Old-Timey Member Posted July 3, 2019 Posted July 3, 2019 Got jammed by a cutter and still went to CF, but those are the type of ABs you wanna see for the kids
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted July 3, 2019 Author Posted July 3, 2019 Heyo... Thornton's tossing BP tonight.
glory Old-Timey Member Posted July 3, 2019 Posted July 3, 2019 There isn't much Buntoyo can do about the pitch counts since it takes Thornton 30 pitches to get past 3 batters, but damn the high pitch counts in low innings seem like a really bad combination.

He should consider using some openers once in a while.
glory Old-Timey Member Posted July 3, 2019 Posted July 3, 2019 He should consider using some openers once in a while. Well at this point I think it's clear he was the old man that Tampa did not want to fire and not someone who actually believes in their practices.

You guys are out to lunch if you believe it's Kevin Cash making the calls on using openers in Tampa.
Slade Old-Timey Member Posted July 3, 2019 Posted July 3, 2019 Sean Reid Foley has looked fantastic so far tonight. Might actually be a very useful bullpen guy if he can't make it as a starter.
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted July 3, 2019 Posted July 3, 2019 You guys are out to lunch if you believe it's Kevin Cash making the calls on using openers in Tampa. Wat? All I said is Montoyo should use some openers once in a while. Never mentioned Tampa or Kevin Cash or anything else. I just think our rotation is really struggling right now. Richard is the first starting pitcher not named Stroman or Thornton to get a win since the end of April. That's nuts. He needs to use a better reliever than Law to do it though who sucks ass. Maybe Biagini could get through 2 innings to open games once in a while.
tbad Verified Member Posted July 3, 2019 Posted July 3, 2019 Put them against decent to good pitching and this offense flops around like a half dead fish

And all I'm saying is Montoyo isn't the one that's making the decision to use openers, that comes from the FO for sure. I'm not disagreeing with you either, I feel like the team just doesn't like the bullpen all that much either so it's pretty much s*** vs turd on deciding who to start games with.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted July 3, 2019 Posted July 3, 2019 SRF has looked fantastic in this one, he could really have a future as a multi-inning reliever or post-opener starter if being a regular full-time starter doesn't work out. When his command is at least at 75% his stuff is filthy.
