Whatever Grichuk ate for breakfast this morning needs to continue

3 multiple hit games in a row, no? 3 of 5 with Dinger's in between.

Still good.

Thornton looks like he’s gonna stick.

Fill up those 3-5 rotation spots with cheap younger types like him and Borucki, trade/sign for 2 top of the rotation guys. There’s your championship rotation.

Can't entirely blame Teoscar there although obviously he played that horribly, it's just such a dump of a park.

Well said lol. Hard park. Played like s***. Thornton has been so good this eve. Nice job.

Not going to blame Teoscar for that since the park is a s*** show, but letting Thornton face Betts in the 7th inning is very un Rays like (4th time through the order).

Teo doesn't know this park, it isn't fair to bust his balls.

I agree but if we didn’t see him look similar so many times it is easier to give benefit of doubt. Brutal park out there though.

This would be nice.

Open field no fences there....does anyone actually believe that Teo gets there. f*** excuses.

Yes? Teoscar was basically there but had to pull up because of that stupid trapezoid fence in the middle of the field.

Personally, I'd have liked Trent finish the inning, ah well.

Nah no way, fourth time through the order facing the very best hitters while his pitch count is high. Let him leave on a high note, if the bullpen blows it for him so be it, better them than him and shattering his confidence after a truly outstanding start.

Montoya shoulda started the seventh with a new arm - even if he did get #9 hitter out. Against the Sox with a lead, use your resources and win the games you can. Don't think he has too much intuition at all...

Good point, can't argue with that.

I wouldn't have let him start the inning either, but definitely taken him out before facing Betts.

I don't think Montoyo is very analytical, but that's probably beating a dead horse considering the other aspects of his managing this season.

Who would've thought he would be our best performer at the start of the season? I thought his start was just a little hot streak, but he's been damn consistent.
