That HR to Upton was a bad pitch selection from Jansen. When a hanging slider gets hit hard but foul, anybody with common sense can assume they're getting a fastball next pitch. Come back with another slider or something off speed, especially when his slider has been mostly good tonight.

Whats weird is he looks much less of a whimp than Biggio does. And yes, I know 2nd basemen are usually skinnier than catchers do, but still.......the relative difference is just weird and remarkable

Kratz in 21 games (53 PA) has a 0 wRC+ this year.

 

The nice thing about Jansen, at least, is that his walk and k rates are actually perfectly fine. I'd be a hell of a lot more worried otherwise.
