Pendleton Old-Timey Member Posted June 4, 2019 Posted June 4, 2019 Chances Oakland takes a 2 sport athlete? lol They should take your two way guy just to confirm that his first two options are baseball.
BlueRocky Old-Timey Member Posted June 4, 2019 Posted June 4, 2019 Anyone staying up for the second round pick? Lots of interesting names and scenarios here. Rounds 2-5 is where a good scouting department can really pay off.
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted June 4, 2019 Posted June 4, 2019 so which one is it IMO his mechanics LOOK really awkward, whether he's mechanically sound is out of my area.
Ray Verified Member Posted June 4, 2019 Posted June 4, 2019 So who are we thinking for the 2nd round? I wouldn't mind getting Jake Sanford.
jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted June 4, 2019 Posted June 4, 2019 So who are we thinking for the 2nd round? I wouldn't mind getting Jake Sanford. I think we should take....nvm we all know who I want. I would be cool with Will Holland too. Yeah, he sucked this year and whoever drafts him is going to need to overhaul his swing but he's oozing with talent.
Pendleton Old-Timey Member Posted June 4, 2019 Posted June 4, 2019 So who are we thinking for the 2nd round? I wouldn't mind getting Jake Sanford. There was a HS bat who I asked for a BA report on in the other thread, would have to look. Edit - Gunnar Henderson
P2F Old-Timey Member Posted June 4, 2019 Posted June 4, 2019 Big Spence or bust Only problem is that he would be pretty 'spency. His commitment to Vanderbilt is said to be as locked up as a bullfrog's water-tight *******, so he'd require an overslot deal.
jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted June 4, 2019 Posted June 4, 2019 There was a HS bat who I asked for a BA report on in the other thread, would have to look. Gunnar! No way he falls to us though. I'm surprised he has not been plucked. I thought the Rays were going to grab him
Slade Old-Timey Member Posted June 4, 2019 Posted June 4, 2019 Damn I really liked Michael Busch's swing although didn't actually believe he would get to us.
Pendleton Old-Timey Member Posted June 4, 2019 Posted June 4, 2019 Gunnar! No way he falls to us though. I'm surprised he has not been plucked. I thought the Rays were going to grab him Only 20 more picks, it could happen! But yeah I was more thinking of him as a potential Groshans style 1st rounder
BlueRocky Old-Timey Member Posted June 4, 2019 Posted June 4, 2019 (edited) Matt Allan, Brennan Malone, Kameron Misner fell out of the 1st round. First round is complete. Sikkema, Graeme Stinson, Ryne Nelson Edited June 4, 2019 by BlueRocky
TheHurl Site Manager Posted June 4, 2019 Posted June 4, 2019 God I'm so smart were you really smart or just calling out everyone else for being stupid?
Laika Community Moderator Posted June 4, 2019 Posted June 4, 2019 I can't even really see what other people might dislike about his mechanics?
glory Old-Timey Member Posted June 4, 2019 Posted June 4, 2019 Does the first round really need to be this long every year? Damn what a waste of time. Just get on with it. MLB can barely get people to attend their games, you think fans are flocking to MLB Network to watch this s***? The NBA draft can get away with it because the fans will see those players in a few months. Half of the first round in MLB will be lucky to reach the Majors. Be more efficient, Manfred.
BlueRocky Old-Timey Member Posted June 4, 2019 Posted June 4, 2019 My favorite position players still on the board that would be good value at pick 52: College: Kamerson Misner, Davis Wendzel Prep: Gunnar Henderson, Tyler Callihan, Rece Hinds, Sammy Siani, Matthew Lugo
Pendleton Old-Timey Member Posted June 4, 2019 Posted June 4, 2019 Gunnar Henderson or Jimmy Lewis at 52
BlueRocky Old-Timey Member Posted June 4, 2019 Posted June 4, 2019 D-Backs with Carroll, Walston, Malone, and Jameson to start their night. If they sign all 4 of them that's an amazing draft.
P2F Old-Timey Member Posted June 4, 2019 Posted June 4, 2019 My feels are that the Pirates will use their comp pick to take Gunnar Henderson and effectively replace 2018's failed Gunnar Hoglund selection.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted June 4, 2019 Posted June 4, 2019 were you really smart or just calling out everyone else for being stupid? Both
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted June 4, 2019 Author Posted June 4, 2019 Yo this guy just dropped a "The Tampa Bay Devil Rays are on the clock". That's an OG right there.
BlueRocky Old-Timey Member Posted June 4, 2019 Posted June 4, 2019 what happened to the BJMB draft night live stream?
BlueRocky Old-Timey Member Posted June 4, 2019 Posted June 4, 2019 and of course the Rays get another stud prep righty JJ Goss, what's new?
Slade Old-Timey Member Posted June 4, 2019 Posted June 4, 2019 Damn it Tampa taking JJ Goss. That's a good pick.
Slade Old-Timey Member Posted June 4, 2019 Posted June 4, 2019 Damn it Hurl now Siani off the board too.

Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted June 4, 2019 Posted June 4, 2019 what happened to the BJMB draft night live stream? Couldn't make it happen
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted June 4, 2019 Author Posted June 4, 2019 I'm glad they mentioned he's the brother of Mike Siani, wasn't quite sure who he was to that point but that really clarified things for me.
