Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted May 30, 2019 Posted May 30, 2019 I think that foul ground ball might have actually touched the side of the base on the way by.
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted May 30, 2019 Posted May 30, 2019 You're right but the third baseman was playing shallow so unless they were going for the squeeze it's still a tough bunt to pull off when you have the force at every base. Bottom line is that hitters better start to work on making adjustments because you will start to see more of these types of defenses, especially the average type hitters.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted May 30, 2019 Posted May 30, 2019 Yeah in that situation it wouldn't have applied. Just talking in general. Yeah I agree with this point, hell even a guy like Eric Sogard has failed to lay one down against the shift with two strikes several times this series. It's much harder than it looks that's for sure, also lol @ Eric Sogard getting shifted.
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted May 30, 2019 Posted May 30, 2019 I think that foul ground ball might have actually touched the side of the base on the way by. Good thing there wasn't an umpire in the vicinity.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted May 30, 2019 Posted May 30, 2019 That was scary as hell, Garcia stepped on Biggio's ankle/heel running at full speed and he tumbled pretty badly himself.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted May 30, 2019 Posted May 30, 2019 Okay luckily he didn't step directly with the leading foot, his back foot dragged and clipped Biggio's so not as bad.
Acemeister79 Verified Member Posted May 30, 2019 Posted May 30, 2019 Tampa fans need a rabies shot...
Ex Player Verified Member Posted May 30, 2019 Posted May 30, 2019 Even routine popups are an adventure in this "stadium"
Jaysareus Verified Member Posted May 30, 2019 Posted May 30, 2019 Just let tampa win at this point save the pen
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted May 30, 2019 Posted May 30, 2019 Of course it would hit off the top of the wall. We'll probably strand him now.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted May 30, 2019 Posted May 30, 2019 Diego Castillo really trying to save face by blaming the mound lol.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted May 30, 2019 Posted May 30, 2019 It's uncanny. Pitcher can't find the zone for anyone else, Vladdy comes up, and it's upper 90s on the black.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted May 30, 2019 Posted May 30, 2019 Yeah if the Rays relievers could stop throwing the ball near Vladdy's head that'd be great.
Ex Player Verified Member Posted May 30, 2019 Posted May 30, 2019 Of course our blooping hits dont drop
Carlos Danger Old-Timey Member Posted May 30, 2019 Posted May 30, 2019 Damn, Gurriel was playing golf.
bones10 Old-Timey Member Posted May 30, 2019 Posted May 30, 2019 Lol theres no actual way theyre coming out of this with a win
Carlos Danger Old-Timey Member Posted May 30, 2019 Posted May 30, 2019 Are Spanky and Deadpool passed out yet?
Barkerfan23 Verified Member Posted May 30, 2019 Posted May 30, 2019 How many close games have we lost in Tampa since 2003, it's crazy
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted May 30, 2019 Posted May 30, 2019 That's a hell of a play by Gurriel to hold Garcia to a single.
bones10 Old-Timey Member Posted May 30, 2019 Posted May 30, 2019 why havent they brought in Giles lmao
Ex Player Verified Member Posted May 30, 2019 Posted May 30, 2019 why havent they brought in Giles lmao They have an off-day tomorrow as well
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted May 30, 2019 Posted May 30, 2019 Edwin Jackson is going to get rocked in Colorado Friday night.
5ToolPhenom Verified Member Posted May 30, 2019 Posted May 30, 2019 why havent they brought in Giles lmao A lot of these old-school managers won't bring in a closer in a tied game on the road... I don't get it. You see the same move used commonly across the league.
5ToolPhenom Verified Member Posted May 30, 2019 Posted May 30, 2019 All things considered, still probably as good as an outcome as one could expect with Snell on the mound. Jays lack of situational hitting bites em in the ass again though.
