EastCoaster Verified Member Posted April 20, 2019 Posted April 20, 2019 If Hanson isn't the one removed from both the 40 and 25 man, there's a serious issue here. Hanson is a multi roll player he can outfield and infield and is out of options management wouldn't have accepted him in a trade for only a couple of weeks.

He's s***** at everything and would probably clear waivers if placed on them. If he didn't clear waivers, literally every Blue Jays fan would forget that he existed before the end of May.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted April 20, 2019 Posted April 20, 2019 I don't know if this will happened Tuesday as predicted but he will be called up sooner than later Guerrero has nothing left to prove at the AAA level he's one of the game purest hitter and all indication are that he will continue at the big league level. Now the Blue Jays has to make some roster move first to the 40 man roster where likely someone will have to be released. Travis and Pompey are safe cause there not on the 40 man roster and they're injured no player can be traded or release while injured. Then there's also has to be a move from the active roster Guerrero is an infielder the likely candidate to be removed is Rowdy Tellez who has options who is listed as an infielder. Drury is not going anywhere he's backup to 3rd base Smoak, Galvis and Sogard are regulars. In the last 7 games Tellez has an avg of .118 he had some success at first but the league has adjusted to him they know exactly how to pitch him. The Blue Jays will give that spot to Vlad Guerrero jr 3rd base and DH for days he not playing 3rd base. The waiting game is on for baseball most anticipated prospect. You just used a 12 PA sample on Tellez, Guerrero will be playing 3rd base. Merryweather can go on the 60 day IL, Hanson will be DFA'd.

Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted April 20, 2019 Posted April 20, 2019 And in a couple of years it'll be Alford CF, Biggio LF, Groshans 3B, Bichette SS, Lopez 2B, Vladdy 1B Lol Alford won't be on this team in a couple of years. He is terrible.
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted April 20, 2019 Posted April 20, 2019 Lol Alford won't be on this team in a couple of years. He is terrible. You're likely right. But we don't really have a lot of high end OF spects right now to salivate over. Maybe Chavez Young if he can follow up last years performance with another good one this season.

Nobody said Hanson was good player that why they call him bench player because they sit most of the time. When Vladdy comes up he's going to chew up more playing time away from Tellez guaranteed. Guerrero bat will be in the line up everyday playing 3rd base or DH they are not going to take Galvis. Smoak or Sogard bat out the line up in favor of Tellez just check who is hitting at top of the line up and that should tell you a lot right there. They will probably start off Guerrero in 6 spot probably behind Hernandez.

Also, let's not forget that in order to save a bit of face, they'll probably have Lourdes back up before his bobble head day...

Guaranteed that Guerrero won't play 3rd base everyday they will cautious with him at the start couple of days at 3rd one off in the DH spot don't forget Tellez isn't the only player they have to rotate in the line up. The top of the line up is pretty set now with Sogard, Galvis, Smoak, Grichuk and Hernandez. Guerrero is likely to be slotted behind Hernandez in this line up to start in his MLB debut. They're going to really protect this kid he's the Blue Jays future. Bench players are multi role players not one dimensional those are for the regular players on this team. Tellez playing is going to reduce with the call up Vlad Guerrero jr everybody can see that coming.

Okay, you're setting yourself up for HUGE disappointment if you think that Sogard and Galvis are going to keep this level of production up... Yeah, they've been great so far for the Jays, but they aren't as good as they have been so far in 2019.

With no Morales there’s more flexibility at those positions. As long as Vlad looks ok at 3B in the majors, he’ll play there most of the time, and occasionally DH and also get days off. He won’t play literally every day partly because players are not used to 130+ games a season in the minors. 3B has been manned by Drury, Urena, and Sogard - one of them (including Gurriel) will compete with Hanson (who has played in 10 games already) as the back up utility infielder while also playing at 2B. It’s these players who are most effected by Vlad’s call up, not Tellez.

Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted April 21, 2019 Posted April 21, 2019 The more people whine the longer the Jays are gonna wait to call him up. This is now a spiteful 'No one's gonna tell me how to manage this organization' thing. Shatkins will not be bullied.
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted April 21, 2019 Posted April 21, 2019 A Friday home game call up right now makes the most sense. Buffalo games rained out combined with a weekend debut. Rogers will make a few more bucks on a hyped weekend draw rather than a mid week school night game.

Yeah but the spike in viewership in two games will add basically nothing to the season average, or monthly average. Cable channels can't increase sponsorship rates based on the two game spike. I'm not sure if viewership is tallied monthly, weekly or yearly in terms of sponsorship fees. In any case, the extra two games are irrelevant. Might as well cash in on ticket / concession sales.

Not ratings, or ticket sales... They have not been able to get Vlad in sufficient games so far at AAA and especially back to back etc. I also feel they feel they have an obligation to give Buffalo a few home games with Vlad.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted April 21, 2019 Posted April 21, 2019 Hey, would be nice, but... they'll build it over the road trip. The Angels series makes so much sense.

CBlake Verified Member Posted April 21, 2019 Posted April 21, 2019 He's guessing, no idea, lol. When you are a Sportsnet type you are connected , to pardon the pun, things are being fed to you, the message is getting spun. I fully expect this week to be the week. It will get the tickets selling like hot cakes.

BlueRocky Old-Timey Member Posted April 21, 2019 Posted April 21, 2019 Pretty sure Ben Nicholson-Smith spoke to people inside the organization. Management, coaches, etc. And April 26 was a good educated guess. That’s a little different from Hector Gomez and his insider info. It’s all speculation atm. But definitely watch for sportsnet social media to pump the tires on his debut, perhaps two days in advance to sellout those tickets and draw eyeballs. I also predicted the Angels series on the other thread but it’s looking more like a home debut.
