jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted April 15, 2019 Posted April 15, 2019 The Dodgers are hitting Cody Bellinger 4th tonight against a RHP. His wRC+ vs RHP this season is 302.
5ToolPhenom Verified Member Posted April 16, 2019 Posted April 16, 2019 It is time to fire Manfred. That shits more obtrusive looking than the NBA with the advertising on the jerseys.
5ToolPhenom Verified Member Posted April 16, 2019 Posted April 16, 2019 Sorry Hurl but the Cincinnati Reds don’t need sponsorship dollars so badly that they’re selling advertising on the f***ing helmets. It’s an awful look, next thing we know they’ll be monetizing the space in the outfield grass for more $$$. I remember in the early 00's they put movie advertisements on the bases and there was so much backlash that they nixed it. Hopefully that'll be the case with the helmets.

tbad Verified Member Posted April 16, 2019 Posted April 16, 2019 It feels like the Angels haven't drafted a good player since Kole Calhoun and are no where near bringing up anyone remotely good... "feels" is the keyword here as I'm not actually sure. Anyone?

"feels" is the keyword here as I'm not actually sure. Anyone? Taylor Ward, Jo Adell, Jose Suarez, Griffin Canning, Jahmai Jones, Brandon Marsh, Matt Thaiss, Luis Rengifo (trade), Michael Hermosillo, Patrick Sandoval (trade), Chris Rodriguez. This farm is quite good and a lot of the talent is close or getting there.

tbad Verified Member Posted April 16, 2019 Posted April 16, 2019 Huh? Kole Calhoun good? Never heard of Jo Adell? Calhoun has had one bad season. Also your tone is a very *******-like given how I phrased my comment and asked if anyone else knew. Gotta give you an "F" on that response. Good job.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2019 Posted April 16, 2019 Huh? Kole Calhoun good? Never heard of Jo Adell? Calhoun put up 10 WAR in his first 3 full seasons. He was pretty good, just not splashy.

Hopefully that'll be the case with the helmets. I’m pretty sure the logos were only for the series in Mexico. St. Louis had them on their helmets too. Still dumb, but at least it doesn’t look like a full season sponsorship deal.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2019 Posted April 16, 2019 Forgive him. Jim owns Jo Adell in one of the forum dynasty leagues and he’s very proud of it Are we just glossing over the fact that Jim had no idea Kole Calhoun was a good player? It's ok to be clueless but when you are clueless and correcting people...yikes. I do have a theory, though. Perhaps Jim's unfamiliarity of baseball outside of his specific region is because he was planted here by the Kremlin. Sounds plausible to me. I demand to see your tax returns, Jim

I have to imagine they were sponsoring the event and the Mexican baseball commission had no problem with that (they also have logos on their uniforms IIRC and it looks f***ing awful).

I don't really quite understand the strategy of pissing people off by plastering your boring ass logo over every conceivable thing but then corporate execs aren't exactly the most in touch people.
Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2019 Posted April 16, 2019 Just a tad off-line. Apparently, he was pulled for injury as he made another throw home and was taken out, ouch.

This guy was way too powerful to have never developed it on field. I feel 21 year old Snider coming up 2019 would have had more success. Whether it's about launch angle or just moving him from RF. His career AAA line is now .310/.392/.486

Speaking of which...what happened to Brett Lawrie this spring? Doesn't look like he's playing in the minors. Did the Brewers just cut him?

jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2019 Posted April 16, 2019 I watched this live and it's too good not to share with the main board. Yu Darvish throws a fastball that drills Brinson in the nuts which immediately drops him holding his crotch and then the ball hits the umpire in the throat. You would think that would be impossible but here we are: https://www.mlb.com/cut4/99-mph-darvish-pitch-hits-batter-catcher-and-ump
