Listen, we as a society have decided that women are to be protected. That is perfectly rational. Literally every animal species on earth protects their females first and foremost. It's like what Bill Burr says, there are plenty of reasons to hit a woman but you just don't do it. We've all probably been in very serious arguments, and not hitting your wife or GF really isn't that hard.

Take your toxic heterocentricity and GTFO

Man, the Cubs s*** the bed spectacularly, lol @ Kimbrel blowing 4 of those last 7 games.

Also, Ramirez comes back after surgery on his wrist in just a month and hits 2 jacks from both sides of the plate for a GS and 3 run dinger in his first 2 AB's, impressive.

Something rather cathartic about Kimbrel sucking dicks after demanding a 9 figure deal.

Only wish Dombrowski gave him that deal in Boston.

I can’t believe the A’s are gonna win 95+ games with a rotation spearheaded by Brett Anderson, Homer Bailey, and Mike Fiers.

This is worth 95 wins alone...

It goes to show you that with some creativity - there are many different ways to win baseball games. Long gone are the days when a strong rotation is required to be successful.

It’s remarkable how quickly they turned things around too. They traded JD prior to 2015 in a horrible lopsided deal for them, but within 3 years became a 95+ win team again in consecutive seasons. They are literally getting no contribution from anyone in the JD deal either. Maybe Beane didn’t lose his mind four years ago after all.

Despite never really having playoff success - Beane is a legendary GM in my books.

I agree man, he's been pretty damn good at his payroll.

It's unfortunate that Acuna has a bad hip, I wanted to see him reach the 40 - 40 pinnacle. No one's done it since A-Rod and only he, Soriano, Bonds and Canseco ever done it. :(

lol, Jose Canseco is in the 40/40 club? Did not expect that.

Man, how did Wade Boggs never win an MVP. Was never even runner up. His prime was PRIME. Seven straight years with at least 6 WAR, six of those years over 7 WAR, and four of those years over 8 WAR. I guess the answer is obvious.

Canseco was an athlete back then, everyone forgets that. Boggs was a joy to watch, it seemed like he could aim his line drives.

awe s***! I missed that news. I thought he was a lock to swipe a few more bases and get to 40-40.

That 40-40 list is a good trivia question. Everyone forgets Soriano.

Yeah, I was surprised Laika didn't know of Canseco, first guy to do it. I forgot about Alfonso, look at my post. lol

I started following baseball in '88 and the Canseco 40/40 was a huge thing... Canseco was a legend in the late 80s early 90s, as most assumed it would be him, and not Mcguire that would challenge 60 homers in the right ballpark and a juiced ball year.

Boggs got beat out in WAR by Ripken and Henderson in some of those years... I don't know exactly if it coincided with their MVPs (and too lazy to look it up right now).... Obviously the George Bell MVP, and some reliever from Detroit MVP (84) were a bit problematic. I think the other races were arguable in a

The 85 MVP race is interesting... Mattingly won for 145 RBIs, but was like 8th or something in WAR. Henderson was the king that year... and Mattingly only got 145 rbis because of Henderson's 10ish on base and stolen base driven WAR... so Henderson lost himself the MVP by being the MVP. Glancing over it there was also a random Robin Yount MVP in 89 that didn't make much sense in retrospect
