5ToolPhenom Verified Member Posted August 6, 2019 Posted August 6, 2019 Hmmm, I've really enjoyed listening to A-rod on the broadcasts. I've found him surprisingly personable. Mendoza sucks, but I guess it's kinda cool to have the female touch on the air.
5ToolPhenom Verified Member Posted August 6, 2019 Posted August 6, 2019 The Mets just keep winning! 1 inning away from winning both games of a doubleheader. Not gonna lie, it'd be fun to see Stro pitch in the playoffs again.
Solaxys Old-Timey Member Posted August 6, 2019 Posted August 6, 2019 Pillar doing Pillar stuff; gosh I miss him. I don't know the logistics of why we went with Grichuk over Pillar, but wish we extended Pillar instead of him (in whatever perfect world, assuming we had to extend an OF at all)

We can debate the merits of extending Grichuk, but extending Pillar would not have been wise.

I saw that s*** and thought the same thing. Pathetic.
BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted August 6, 2019 Posted August 6, 2019 Smart gamble with JD by AA. 3 WAR and the upside of Donaldson was worth the risk even if he had a terrible season. Dangerous bat in the playoffs. TBF a one year contract doesn't have too many drawbacks, but yeah a good pick up. JD's average exit velocity exceeds 2015 and 2016 as does his hard hit %. Avg FB/LD exit velocity also up from those years to 98.2. He is in elite company and pulverizing baseballs. It was a smart f***ing AA move, whether it worked out or not, to take a one year on JD at that price.
Barkerfan23 Verified Member Posted August 6, 2019 Posted August 6, 2019 Barker thinks Sanchez was a fluke. Says its just one start against a bad team.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted August 6, 2019 Posted August 6, 2019 There is some internet speculation that the Braves didn’t realize Gausman would be irrevocably waived. I assume this isn’t true, because man that would be some staggering incompetence.

Bobthe4th Old-Timey Member Posted August 6, 2019 Author Posted August 6, 2019 For the Jays I like Mr Seeds for Teoscar and Butters for Thornton. Derek Fisher can f*** off if his pick of ‘Fisher’ is for old school reasons, haha.

Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted August 6, 2019 Posted August 6, 2019 Wilmer Font having a nickname of FONKY is one hell of a waste. At least Reese McGuire gets it!
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted August 6, 2019 Posted August 6, 2019 Beef Stew for Brock Stewart is incredible.

Pendleton Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2019 Posted August 7, 2019 Who was the last rookie to win a batting title?
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2019 Posted August 7, 2019 Who was the last rookie to win a batting title? I remember Ichiro did it in 2001. Can't recall if it's happened since.
onwego Verified Member Posted August 7, 2019 Posted August 7, 2019 Bucs catcher Diaz takes a foul tip off the same exposed kneecap two games in a row. Took a lot longer to get up tonight. They can’t protect this spot beyond the thinnest plastic

Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2019 Posted August 7, 2019 Lester is taking one for the team (11 runs given up so far). And yes, I took him in DFS.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2019 Posted August 7, 2019 I don't want to dig it out right now, but someone needs to post that DJ Stewart botched sliding catch.
Pendleton Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2019 Posted August 7, 2019 I remember Ichiro did it in 2001. Can't recall if it's happened since. Bryan Reynolds now qualifies and was tied for the lead entering tonight
BTS Community Moderator Posted August 7, 2019 Posted August 7, 2019 Nelson Cruz is on an insane heater: 13 homers in his last 15 games. 168 wRC+ on the season.

Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2019 Posted August 7, 2019 With the doubleheader sweep, Tribe just a half game back of the Twins
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2019 Posted August 7, 2019 He's following in Big Papi's shoes. Yep. Papi, Bonds, Clemens all come to mind. You don’t get better at 39yo lol Cruz is one of my favorite players though
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted August 8, 2019 Posted August 8, 2019 And the Mets 1 back for the wildcard. Miracle Mets 50 years after the 1969 version?
