Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted June 28, 2019 Posted June 28, 2019 Over his last 181.3 innings, Hyun-Jin Ryu has an ERA of 1.59
BigBounceyBlueBalls Old-Timey Member Posted June 28, 2019 Posted June 28, 2019 I didn't see it posted, but Mike Trout has surpassed 70 career fWAR, and he'll likely surpass 70 bWAR in about two weeks. He doesn't turn 28 until August. What Does the B.E.V.R Say ... Lol Glad you asked ... Trout is 107 Career B.E.V.R to date ! To put it in context Joe Carter was only a 78 Under B.E.V.R and Bautista was at 82 B.E.V.R ! So yes mike trout is better then Them up till and so far at this point ! Now for Shits and Giggles and by the same token He is not Babe Ruth or Ted Williams either when Judged By B.E.V.R either ! One gets a B.E.V.R of 195 and the other Has 174 B.E.V.R so Trout will have to be umm A much better and busy B.E.V.R to catch them Guess who is each , which Great which B.E.V.R !!! Is that possible even and speaks Rather to how effective or efficient day in day out of Those two greats and dominate they were Mike Trout would Be their Bitch !!!
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted June 28, 2019 Posted June 28, 2019 Best ever through their age 27 season, and he still has half the season to go. https://www.fangraphs.com/leaders.aspx?pos=all&stats=bat&lg=all&qual=y&type=8&season=2019&month=0&season1=1871&ind=0&team=&rost=&age=14,27&filter=&players=&startdate=&enddate= Man - Trout really compares well to Mickey Mantle (with a little more speed). Let's hope he doesn't become a raging alcoholic.

You are Closer or in the Ballpark but most likely hit the Foul pole .. looking at it with B.E.V.R mantle had a 123 B.E.V.R so realistically saying Trout is Mantle is only true as a Statement if you also except Jose Bautista is almost equal to Trout as Well As that is almost as Close as you came from in Your Trout vs Mantle Statement !!! Whew B.E.V.R day two Saves Mike Trout From becoming a Raging Alcoholic! Thank your Lucky B.E.V.R baseball fans !!
glory Old-Timey Member Posted June 28, 2019 Posted June 28, 2019 Hoping the Angels can take one of the WC spots. Trout needs to be in the playoffs for the betterment of the game. He's been out of the spotlight way too long.

Even though neither really seem interested in that side, their talent showcased in the playoffs would help MLB’s popularity overall IMO.

AintNoThang Verified Member Posted June 28, 2019 Posted June 28, 2019 Don't know where else to post this, just some random thoughts. When will fantasy baseball drop the antiquated average as a main statistic and use on base percentage? Also, WHIP seems like a meaningless stat. You can have an extreme ground ball pitcher and an extreme fly ball pitcher with the same whip but vastly different results. Wouldn't bases per inning be a more meaningful metric?

Leagues can choose OBP over AVG if they want. 2. Sure, but old school types use it so it will probably always be around. 3. What did you have for breakfast?

Snell and Treinen have derailed my fantasy team so I'm on a mini bender.

Many leagues allow you to customize what stats you want to use. To be fair, OBP is antiquated too if you want to use that argument. For me, personally, I like to be able to watch a game I have fantasy/DFS players in and know what each result I see means for my team without having to run a bunch of calculations. It's just more fun that way. The calculations are fun for other applications.

I'm only new to fantasy (the past 3 years) and one of the main issues I have is when teams are out of it, they give up so quickly. Many lineups with players on the DL. Are there any sites that have a way to keep all teams engaged? I have a solution.

If it's a dynasty league, then teams that are out of it can still make smart pickups to improve their situation for the following year, and tend to stay a little more active. Some sort of money-based league could maybe have small weekly pots that handicapped teams or something. We've toyed with the idea in dynasty of weighting draft lotteries to (very) slightly favor top performing non-playoff teams, giving teams the incentive to finish as high as possible. We've never implemented it in any leagues though.

I didn’t think that’d come from you but a lot of people playing fantasy watch and follow sports and prefer the excitement of knowing what they’re seeing. Like a running back running for 15 yards or a touchdown. Instead of, well actually his run rating on that was only a 2.1 so it wasn’t actually good. That’s basically FIP for you.

It's frustrating seeing so many give up and then the top 3 or 4 teams just blow past them in each category. Is there a fantasy thread here where people can ask questions? I have a few moves that I have to make and not sure which direction to go.

Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted June 29, 2019 Posted June 29, 2019 Daniel Murphy is not having a good game. Back to back throwing errors in the first inning ... as a 1st baseman.

Bobthe4th Old-Timey Member Posted June 29, 2019 Author Posted June 29, 2019 You going? Unfortunately not, I’m not in London this week. Would have been difficult to get tickets anyway. It’s going to be annual thing though, hopefully it’ll be as successful as the NBA and NFL international series have been.
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted June 29, 2019 Posted June 29, 2019 Any thoughts on how successful the NBA/NFL initiatives in Europe (or Mexico) have been? I mean in general, promoting the game across the world seems worthwhile; however, if you do it year after year, does it lose it's luster/effect?
Ex Player Verified Member Posted June 29, 2019 Posted June 29, 2019 I wonder what kind of attendance they'll get. Are you expecting a sellout??
