The Dbacks/Dodgers game was a mess.

 

Diamondbacks put JR Murphy on the mound in the 7th with no intention of taking him out. Gave up 7 and threw 55 pitches over 2 innings.

 

And Martin finished it in the 9th for the Dodgers up by 13.

Why did Tyler Glasnow change his mechanics after he finally enjoyed some success at the majors? What was the logic behind this?

 

I also noticed this spring (he pitched in the TB v. TOR game I went to) that his mechanics from the windup are different from the stretch. His extension is divine though.

Kolten Wong just got drilled on the side of the head by a throw on a steal attempt. He seems fine overall but definitely a bit rattled.

Ken Rosenthal and Dennis Lin of The Athletic report that the Padres "are engaged in continuing dialogue" with Dallas Keuchel's camp.

 

Smoltz was saying that he had conversations with Preller where he talked about having such a deep system will allow him to make moves mid-season with this year and next in mind. I hope they are above .500 at the deadline so I can watch what he does.

They're in that Seattle pen now though, which just walked 4 batters in the 9th to give Boston a shot.
