Reds making a serious push for Realmuto, according to Heyman. If they get Realmuto, they might have one of the best lineups in all of baseball:

Votto

Suarez

Realmuto

Gennett

Puig

Winker

Senzel

Best lineup in baseball? They are more than being a Realmuto away from being the best lineup in baseball.

Last season:

Votto 134 wRC+

Suarez 135 wRC+

Gennett 125 wRC+

Realmuto 126 wRC+

Puig 123 wRC+

Winker 128 wRC+

Votto will probably have a better season, and Senzel should add to that too. That would be one of the better lineups in the league if they all stayed healthy. They don't really have good depth though.

Reds are a Realmuto trade away from becoming the 2013 Blue Jays. They have already added $20M in payroll and are projected to a .500 team and 3rd in the division (projections hate the Brewers). Adding Realmuto would add a couple wins, so unless they plan to pair this with some real payroll busting moves (Kuechel, Kimbrel and a couple the other relievers could help) just to get them up in that Cubs/Cards projection range.

That's pretty damn close.

Yeah, that pitching still isn't good, but it'll still be a fun lineup to watch.

And I like how the Red FO is going for it and being proactive.

Just off the top of my head, I still take the Red Sox, Yankees, Astros, Dodgers, Cubs, Brewers, Nats, Rockies, Cards lineup over the Reds. So not a Realmuto away from being the best lineup in baseball.

I agree, the Reds will be a fun team to watch in 2019. I'm rooting for them and think they could be around .500 and surprise. Though you said yes one of the best lineups in baseball. I have 8-9 lineups currently ahead of them even if they added Realmuto, who I'm not that crazy about to begin with.

I expect Votto to improve his power numbers and have a better season. Puig I think could put together a big season in Cincy. I'm a big fan of Winker and Senzel at some point in 2019 once called up could really be an impact bat in that lineup. I think there is some regression offensively with Gennett, Suarez and Realmuto

There's no way some of those lineups would be better than the Reds with JTR.

Reds also have guys like Schebler and Kemp who aren't zeroes offensively, and maybe a promotable Taylor Trammell.

Actually, looking at the Reds 25 man roster, they seem better than people think. Maybe under-projected.

Castillo, Wood, Roark, Gray, Disco is a strong 5 man; no Aces but a lot to like. I like Mahle and Reed as depth SP. I like the pen enough.

Position player depth kind of sucks and could be their downfall.

I'd only really put the Red Sox, Yankees and Astros firmly ahead of them off the top of my head with it being a wash between the rest of the teams in the Top 10. They're in that 2nd tier with teams like the Brewers, Cardinals, Nationals etc.

They're projected middle of the pack, I don't see how you can put them behind those 3 teams, I mean even Toronto are projected better offensively.:P

The projections take into account the bench too, which admittedly the Reds don't really have that great of. And that's fair. But I see their regulars producing at least a 115-120 wRC+ in almost every spot.

We'll see. I'm more bullish on their lineup than the projections. But I also really like Suarez, Puig, Gennett, and expect Votto to have an MVP like season.

Yes, but Toronto has the advantage of a 750 wRC+ projection from Vladdy (I'll take the over on that one, FWIW...)

The Rockies? da fuk? They have like 3 batters projected with wRC+'s >100. You banking on Matty Holliday turning back the clock? That lineup is s***.

Lol wtf? They are certainly better than all of those teams minus Boston, NY and maybe Houston and LA. Rockies? Seriously?

This same account broke Gordon Hayward to the Celtics before anyone else. May be legit:

Seems legit... should come out soon, now.:P

- That's with Barnhart instead of Realmuto

- projecting Gennett for a 96 wRC+ seems absurd

- Also low on Sooahrez

- Senzel will likely play a lot more than he's projected to

No s***, lol. That's why I said projections think they are where they are. So Boxcar8.com's projections are thinking there off, that's fair, lol. Obviously it changes if they acquire Realmuto, but how much?

lol... what's wrong? I'm serious, maybe 20 runs created better than Barnhart as a team, as both guys defence is on par(not sure about framing)?

I'll take the Astros lineup all day long over the Reds lol. Don't even have to think about it.

Projections think as much, jaysblue is right. It's tight, but he's right.

Not bad for off the top of my head eh?

I like the Reds lineup don't get me wrong, but I don't consider it one of the best lineups in baseball with the Red Sox, Yankees, Astros, or Dodgers right now. Does the Reds lineup have more upside over some of the other teams I mentioned? Sure and I've even acknowledged that. Right now it's more in the middle of the pack. I still would rank the Reds lineup in the Top 10, though it's not one of the best lineups in the league even if they added Realmuto.

Phillies over under and Harper props still up on every page I have...Phils are heavy faves to land him by the wagers though.

With that said I think it's happening.

Marlins supposedly asked for a similar package to what the Indians asked the Reds for Kluber, but now have it down to India, Stephenson and a pitcher for Realmuto.
