As of today we're only 2 games off of Baltimore and KC for the top pick. And even the worst NL team (Miami) has a better record.

 

More reason to trade Stro and Giles

I get that they want to give young players periodic off days due to the difference in the length of the season between the minors and majors, but DH is a thing, you know. Use it for good purposes, and not to get a utility IF in his twilight into the lineup.

In what way? Honestly, I'd be happy to trade Stroman to NY. He'll probably end up going there as a FA anyways, might as well try and capitalize a package around Florial or Frazier.

If nothing else NYY asking for him may increase bidding for Stro.

Cashman bent Atkins over his knee with the Happ deal. Two non-tender candidates for the best left handed starter on the market. Hopefully Atkins learns his lesson if they deal with one another again.

I can't see us overtaking the O's. Anyway, this year 25th worst or 30th worst, doesn't matter.

We are pretty close with Stroman and Giles, without and I think it's a dead heat.

 

Who is the likely #1 pick next year? There isn't a Harper or Strasburg type is there?

Hopefully. I can see this team going on an annoying run that ruins are draft position though.I think the 2 goals for the remainder of the season is to lose as many games as possible and try to milk out the best prospects you can for the veteran players not in the long term plans.

 

Its going to be tough to be worse than Miami and Baltimore those teams are completely void of talent. Atleast the Blue Jays have some interesting pieces.

Not true at all in the case of Miami. You are right about the O's though, they have dug themselves into a deep hole.
