Tellez is DH at best he's a big kid with power and limited defensive abilities, slow on the bases plus once the league exploit his weakness he could resemble someone like Pedro Alvarez who had a short stint in the MLB. The game has evolved and teams are looking more and more at multi-role players to fill in their rosters. Now teams in AL seems to have leaning more towards these types of players to fill in their DH spots.

He thinks bunting is fun and a different style of baseball. He was glad Montoya made Urena bunt until he got it right. Why are the rest of you so against bunting?

 

Because most don't really understand baseball and it's a game that allow teams to win in many different ways. Teams that win Championship are the ones who can play different types of baseball instead of being one dimensional. The 2015 Blue Jays are prime example a power hitting team who couldn't play small ball when it counted the most.

I honestly don't think Montoyo wants to do these things but felt pressured into it. I think Montoyo committing classic rookie mistakes where the plan he wants to do is not working so he's doing what everyone is telling him should be doing.

 

 

Watching Urena and Gurriel yesterday was painful and they lucked out.

Still no doubles or triples or homers. Just singles. Do you think he will come directly to Toronto this weekend??

 

What day is it that we get an extra year?? I thought it was this weekend but wasn't sure of the exact day.

Nah, in his post game presser he said he likes to do the small things, loves bunting, etc... only if the team doesn't hit and forces his hand, though. So you've got it partially right. He called for those plays, ughh.

My guess is mid-May. Why would you want Vlad on a team that can't score more than a run a game? If they are winning in AAA let him play a bit they, if they suck too, bring him up.
