Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted March 26, 2019 Posted March 26, 2019 What are the chances the Jays finalize their 25-man today? Are we more likely looking at an announcement tomorrow? They waited almost to the deadline on Opening day last year(noon), that was painful, lol.
BTS Community Moderator Posted March 26, 2019 Posted March 26, 2019 Looks like the Tigers have announced Zimmermann for opening day. Is it too early for a GDT?
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted March 26, 2019 Posted March 26, 2019 Hoping that with the injury to Travis, Gurriel can establish himself as the full time starter at 2B, instead of being the utility player that he's always appeared destined to be. He'll never get a better opportunity, he's had a good spring training, still has 5 years left on his contract (so the FO will want to give him every chance) and no real rival on the current roster with Drury at 3B to start the season. When Vlad eventually comes up, it's probably between Drury and Gurriel as to who moves over to replace Urena/Sogard as the back up infielder, and who gets the majority of starts at 2B. I think you can expect the Jays will give Gurriel a look at SS if/when Vlady comes up and Drury plays some 2nd base.
glory Old-Timey Member Posted March 26, 2019 Posted March 26, 2019 Thornton makes the team as the #4 starter. Interested to see how he does.
BTS Community Moderator Posted March 26, 2019 Posted March 26, 2019 Thornton makes the team as the #4 starter. Interested to see how he does. Excellent. I think he's better than Gaviglio and Pannone.
BTS Community Moderator Posted March 26, 2019 Posted March 26, 2019 Gaviglio has also been told he made the team as the long man.
P2F Old-Timey Member Posted March 26, 2019 Posted March 26, 2019 Gaviglio to the bullpen in the long relief role. I'm assuming this means Pannone did not make the team. Pretty stoked for Trent, I won't lie.
BTS Community Moderator Posted March 26, 2019 Posted March 26, 2019 Gaviglio to the bullpen in the long relief role. I'm assuming this means Pannone did not make the team. Pretty stoked for Trent, I won't lie. I think Pannone probably still does make it maybe? Confirmed: Giles Mayza Biagini Hudson Gaviglio Maybe Luciano, maybe Adam, and probably Norris. We're unlikely to see a 4-man bench, so all three of those guys would have to make it for Pannone to get optioned.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted March 26, 2019 Posted March 26, 2019 Pannone on the bump... 1. Brandon Drury ® 3B 2. Randal Grichuk ® RF 3. Teoscar Hernandez ® LF 4. Justin Smoak (S) 1B 5. Lourdes Gurriel Jr. ® 2B 6. Kendrys Morales (S) DH 7. Kevin Pillar ® CF 8. Danny Jansen ® C 9. Freddy Galvis (S) SS
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted March 26, 2019 Posted March 26, 2019 With or without some good names in our bullpen, this team suck. I just wanna see the young guys play and development (Jansen, Vladdy, Gurriel, Alford, Merryweather, SRF) Amen, brother.

I feel like we'll see Luciano and Norris, though, and I hope Adam makes the team over Pannone.

Pinkfloid Verified Member Posted March 26, 2019 Posted March 26, 2019 Every fly ball is being zoomed in on so closely you can't see the field lol
saskjayfan Old-Timey Member Posted March 27, 2019 Posted March 27, 2019 Can someone explain why we let Bergen go when our bullpen is crap?
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted March 27, 2019 Posted March 27, 2019 Terrified would be my word of choice. Hurry back Buchholz and Borucki! Why's that? I'm loving the chance Thornton's getting. It's basically a 2-3 start showcase.
saskjayfan Old-Timey Member Posted March 27, 2019 Posted March 27, 2019 Why's that? I'm loving the chance Thornton's getting. It's basically a 2-3 start showcase. He's crap
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted March 27, 2019 Posted March 27, 2019 Can someone explain why we let Bergen go when our bullpen is crap? They didn't let him go, he was drafted in the rule 5 draft.
saskjayfan Old-Timey Member Posted March 27, 2019 Posted March 27, 2019 They didn't let him go, he was drafted in the rule 5 draft. yeah....they should have found a spot on the 40 for him.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted March 27, 2019 Posted March 27, 2019 yeah....they should have found a spot on the 40 for him. They obviously thought/hoped he'd make it through.
BTS Community Moderator Posted March 27, 2019 Posted March 27, 2019 They obviously thought/hoped he'd make it through. Or they just don’t think he’s any good.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted March 27, 2019 Posted March 27, 2019 Or they just don’t think he’s any good. Sure, my point is they know a lot more than any of us.
saskjayfan Old-Timey Member Posted March 27, 2019 Posted March 27, 2019 Or they just don’t think he’s any good. and they think David Paulino....aka lazy man is better? Bergen has had a pretty solid spring. I don't think we're getting him back.
