He is coming back but the way Bergen has been pitching.....I don't think he will be back anytime soon

SSS, my man. Far too early to say he ain't coming back.

Sometimes these roster decisions just take care of themselves.

I hope everyone complaining about our prospects being 'blocked' by veterans is taking note of what's gone on here. Borucki is on the team. Urena is on the team. Jonathan Davis might even be on the team. Two of the guys who would have been ticketed to provide rotation depth at AAA will be on the team. We're like 1-2 injuries away from rostering complete non-prospects on the 40-man just to field a full roster.

99.9% of time when fans are complaining in March that their favourite prospect is blocked, that prospect is not and never actually will be blocked.

So what are we even looking at now as far as the pen is concerned?

Locks

Giles

Mayza

Biagini

IL

Tepera

Phelps

Norris

Merryweather

So we're looking at 4-5 of Luciano/Gaviglio/Paulino/Pannone/Thornton/Waguespack/Murphy

Has Norris even been diagnosed with anything? Hold the brakes on that one. Tepera went to see a TJS specialist f*** him, lol. Axford doesn't sound good, and you're missing SRF. So yeah, add him and you're near bang on.

I don't think they'll want SRF being used in a relief role, but maybe.

I also just realized that Jonathan Davis is hurt too lol.

You could say the same with a lot of those guys you mentioned. Yeah they're beat up.

Jason Adam, relief pitcher.. We claimed him from KC... Where does he fit in??

He'd have to be added to the 40 man, when they call him, same as Axford and Copping, and sounds like Axford will be awhile. Is this the time to add them?

We'll see how many they can add. The 40-man is full right now, but they'll probably 60-day Merryweather and Travis and add Adam and Norris.

Never mind, misread that, lol.

Why do you keep saying Norris? Did I miss something?

All I heard... that could be the shits, man.

Thu, Mar 21

Bud Norris was scratched from his scheduled Grapefruit League appearance on Thursday for undisclosed reasons.

Advice: Gregor Chisholm of Sportsnet says that Norris was "not feeling good" while throwing earlier. The Blue Jays have had several hurlers scratched as of late, including John Axford and Ryan Tepera. We'll have more when we have specifics on why Norris was scratched, which likely will come on Friday.

What!? Serious... Did not know that.. FFS...SMH...

2-4 weeks with a sprained ankle. We're actually completely out of outfielders on the 40-man after Alford:

CF - Pillar

RF - Grichuk

LF - Hernandez/McKinney

bench - Hernandez/McKinney

AAA - Alford

Pompey - concussed

Davis - sprained ankle

Jim, this is why it's dumb to trade Pillar for international bonus money. We are the opposite of flush with outfielders.

He's also not currently on the 40-man.

Meh, plenty of filler out there for under 5 mill

Plus gurriel and Drury are OF semi capable

Meanwhile pillars clock keeps ticking

Ha, Bob McGowan on Sportsnet is railing right now about he wants to see the kids and not some 30 yr old.. Amen;)

You should be concerned that Bob McCown agrees with you. This is not good for your argument.

Touche.. However, I will say that my argument has been entertainment value vs. the old dudes.. I have not been making the argument that the TEAM would necessarily be better with kids vs. vets. I was going at the subject from the aspect that baseball is entertainment, it is an entertainment business. The gulf between our veterans and prospects is not like a 90 win team vs a 65 win team.. We are probably going to where we are regardless if Tellez is DHng or Morales..

Therefore, I for one, and sounds like crusty old Bob, would rather watch the kids win 65 games vs the veterans..

* To add: I think we will be a much better team than 65 wins depending on injuries.. I think we could best case be an 83 win team, if we employ the right mix throughout the year and have some luck..
