I feel bad for Eovaldi, but this makes the rest of the series more interesting.

As much as I enjoyed having 2 games at once (despite having to be at work at 7am this morning) I think this game sealed that something will be done.

 

Think about it from the MLB point of view. Player injury risk is huge, hurts ratings, and the broadcastor loses out on revenue (Fox said the final 6 innings they did not collect ad revenue, just repeated ads for free). I just hope they change the set up from man on second to something else.

Seems to me that's poor planning from Fox. I don't see any reason they couldn't have had ads lined up for extra innings if it happened. That's not MLB's fault.

 

There's no way they'd switch to some other format for the postseason. Regular season maybe.

I agree with abomination Fox should have planned for extra innings. If they want to try that in the Regular Season fine. I still wouldn’t like that but it would be just like the shootout in hockey. They will never let shootouts decide playoff games despite games going to triple OT every year. I don’t see it ever happening. Atleast not in the playoffs with that much on the line.
