Not necessarily - I think if Pillar is moved it’s likely we acquire a veteran OF on a short term contract. But even if we don’t, we’ve got Smith Jr with a chance of being the 4th outfielder, and Hernandez will play most games out there unless we can get rid of Morales.

 

IMO Alford should start in AAA and get a call up as soon as he shows any kind of good form.

There was talk from Davidi that Alford was called up two weeks later than everyone else this month because of super 2 reasons (he can now play 2 full seasons without being a super 2). I wonder if that means they will put him at CF next year and let him sink or swim there. Otherwise they will face the same super 2 issue next year if he’s called up mid season.
