TheHurl Site Manager Posted August 18, 2018 Posted August 18, 2018 my prediction for the Pimp in the Bronx is somewhere in between Jason Nix's 2nd MLB start and Jason Nix's third start in Colorado. So... 1.2IP 5 hits, 6ER, 3BB, 4k's, 2 HR 55 Pitches

Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted August 18, 2018 Posted August 18, 2018 I predict that SRF will ingest some unicorn piss prior to the game 8ip, 3h, 1er, 1bb, 9k, 1hr (to Gregoire Bird)
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted August 18, 2018 Posted August 18, 2018 Kind of a combination of everything sinking him today, just ok command, tipping the offspeed stuff, bad defense, rookie baserunning errors, stupidly inconsistent strike zone. He's pitching better than his line indicates IMO, but still not a good effort. Severino is pitching like trash but has everything going his way conversely, largely due to the fact that jays hitters are garbage
tercet Verified Member Posted August 18, 2018 Author Posted August 18, 2018 So a 8.6 era and 2.75 whip, can we finally agree that SRF is not ready? Stop scouting milb stats lines your morons

Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted August 18, 2018 Posted August 18, 2018 So the second start was a lot more promising even if he suffered from many of the same faults as the first one. The strikeouts were there, the fastball looks like an easy plus pitch even when he's not commanding it properly. I'd say the command of his secondaries were his biggest issue on this one, he couldn't consistently place the breaking balls down and the changeup while he threw a few decent ones was often flat and elevated. The fastball command absolutely must get better, but he's shown that it's a good enough pitch where even if he misses spots hitters have a tough time with it. The end result is a decent 4.37 xFIP at Yankee Stadium, with poor command and some bad luck leading to inflated FIP and ERA. Could be a lot worse for his second time in the bigs, the elite reliever potential is alive and well, but we'll be hoping for him to turn it around his next few starts as he gets more experience at the highest level.
tercet Verified Member Posted August 18, 2018 Author Posted August 18, 2018 Of course orgfiller attempts to spin this into a good/promising start category.
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted August 18, 2018 Posted August 18, 2018 SRF could throw a no hitter and tercet would critique the pitches that caught too much of the plate.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted August 18, 2018 Posted August 18, 2018 SRF could throw a no hitter and tercet would critique the pitches that caught too much of the plate. But he didn't throw a no hitter. He threw a turd. The lengths people are going in order to discredit Tercet is truly remarkable.
