Stroman to DL

May is the new April.... this has been one hell of a s***** month.

 

Also, I'm a little skeptical that this is really an injury.

Has anyone taken a deep look at what his issue has been this year? His velo and pitch movement all looks normal, but hitters have been hitting him all over the ballpark all season. Shoulder issue messing with his command in the zone?

 

If I were to venture a guess, it's because he just stays in one part of the strike zone for the entire game, making his location pretty predictable. Because hitters are only looking for one location all the time, probably easier to lay off pitches out of the zone, too.

I understand that you are a Stro' fan and that's cool. Heck ... way back in the day I was a huge Gary Carter fan and my friends would get on me because he was a fellow who truly loved the camera and could be accused of being ... self involved. But still , I was a huge Gary fan and no one was going to convince me otherwise despite the fact that I knew that he did portray himself in such a way that I could see how it would grate others,

 

Just wondering here though ... would you not acknowledge that Stro's constant chest thumping and stream of consciousness ("I just want to get back to being elite" ... "I just take the ball every fifth day and go dominate" ) ranting is a bit much ?

 

I really , truly want to like the guy because his underdog persona is relatable to the average person. It's just when he blathers on about how great he is that I roll my eyes and tune out. I personally think that's what drives people nuts. The average Joe likes humility in their millionaire athlete. When I think of the prototype Toronto superstar I think of Carlos Delgado , Mats Sundin , Edwin Encarnacion ... they were elite but never told anyone.

The problem with Delagado, Sundin and EE is none of them were great leaders.

 

I think Stroman apart from all his chest beating is a good leader when he is performing. Hard to be good leader when you are not performing.

 

I think he brings good energy and leadership when pitching well.. We really need him back to normal. I would really rather see Jordan Romano today then Biaginni...

What do I think? I'm not sure what you're trying to get at with me(TBH), I don't care what he does off the field in regards of social media, I don't follow(SM) a single player on the team let alone the MLB, I'm a Jays and baseball fan, my worries lie strictly on performance and end results.

 

People that seem to enjoy a player's demise/struggles is troubling, what kind of fan is that? Had guys like George Bell, Dave Stieb, David Wells, etc... been on social media this day in age people would s*** themselves, lol. As for these quotes...

That just sounds like a confident competitive athlete to me, seems all of his team-mates love him, he's usually the first guy out of the dugout celebrating even during his struggles, as long as he doesn't disrupt the clubhouse, I couldn't care less what he does socially. Between the lines man, that's all I worry about. That's what I think, by the way I have a Gary Carter Expos commemorative 1982 All Star jersey, loved that guy.

Can’t argue with you about focusing on results . I shouldn’t let his off-field personality bother me . The truth is that it doesn’t really matter . I’m a fan of the team and I want it to win . Period ... I just can’t help it though ... when I hear him do his thing in an interview I just cringe .

I have that same ‘82 Gary Carter jersey in powder blue . During the two recent Blue Jay playoff runs everyone in our office would wear their Jay’s jersey to work on playoff game days . I have a couple so I did as well but to mix it up one day I wore my Expos jersey . People liked it but I got razzed that the’Spos had one playoff appearance in their history .

Hah, same one. Yeah, that's my outlook, everything to me is between the lines, performance and results. I'll never steer clear from that outlook.
