Bobthe4th Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2018 Posted April 16, 2018 “Curtis Granderson and his HoF bound cleats” I think that’s a stretch to assume he’s a lock.

Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2018 Posted April 16, 2018 How bad of shape is the dome in? Sounds like this one might be in jeopardy?
TBJ12 Verified Member Posted April 16, 2018 Posted April 16, 2018 Ice is falling from CN Tower apparently. Hopefully it melts real quick and we get to see a ball game tonight. Edit: Sound like the ice has damaged roof of RC.
Grant77 Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2018 Posted April 16, 2018 "The earliest in the season the roof has been open occurred on April 16, 2002, when Toronto played the Boston Red Sox. The game-time temperature was 27C."

Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2018 Posted April 16, 2018 The weather is so f***ed this year. I can't believe this s***. I have seen heavy rain, hail, freezing rain, and snow all in the same day.

I have seen heavy rain, hail, freezing rain, and snow all in the same day. That's about every other day in Alberta this spring. Calgary is getting 20 cm of snow today
Effit Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2018 Posted April 16, 2018 I’m convinced that we won’t be seeing another Jays game until May. This is nuts.
Smokinitup420 Verified Member Posted April 16, 2018 Posted April 16, 2018 Damn I understand safety concerns and all but I'm going through some serious jays withdrawal

Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2018 Posted April 16, 2018 I wonder when the last time was that a game got postponed in a dome? Sounds like this one is in real jeopardy. All these postponements really suck

Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2018 Posted April 16, 2018 What's the weather like now? Any updates on if this is going to get played?
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2018 Posted April 16, 2018 I wonder if the roof got damaged badly enough that they had to play Baseball elsewhere for an extended period of time where they would play. Would they go play in Montreal despite the horrendous turf or would they play neutral sight games. I guess they can't because the weather is just as bad in New York and Detroit.
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2018 Posted April 16, 2018 What's the weather like now? Any updates on if this is going to get played? I would imagine if the roof is actually damaged it would be nearly impossible for them to fix it right now. Its raining in Toronto and the conditions are extremely icy. We are going to get an update any time now.
Pendleton Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2018 Posted April 16, 2018 Just slide some plywood over that bad boy and let's play some ball !

To me the main concern is the chunks of ice falling from the sky. Hopefully everything is cleared up for tomorrow seeing as I got tickets xD
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2018 Posted April 16, 2018 If the ice stops falling they could play. Just close the entrance where the ice fell (just in case) and make all the fans enter on the other side of the building. There's got to be something they could do from inside the stadium to help fix that hole, or at least something to prevent the water from falling on to the field. Looks like it might stop raining around game time anyway. I bet they play.

Hopefully everything is cleared up for tomorrow seeing as I got tickets xD I actually sent the picture to my Dad who does repairs to buildings. He said the issue really isn't covering the hole its being able to access the roof safely. They wouldn't assign anyone to do that job in these conditions. Especially if its currently raining. But yes they could easily plug that hole quickly. And than repair it when the Jays leave town.
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2018 Posted April 16, 2018 This guy doesn't realise how lucky he is to be alive right now.
Effit Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2018 Posted April 16, 2018 Damnit CN Tower, keep your ice to yourself.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2018 Posted April 16, 2018 Jesus Christ, that's a huge hole. Definitely getting cancelled. FML.
