Yep. Him missing all of 2016 while defecting really hampered him last year

nice to see Lourdes playing so well. Hopefully he can develop into that super utility guy everyone was hoping for, even if the arrival is delayed.

I feel like his D is going to be poor anywhere on the dirt and the bat is going to be just okay (90-105 wRC+ range).

That would probably make him a decent bench player.

That could have more to do with how much time he missed playing both defecting and injuries. Apparently he has good hands and good actions but I doubt he will play much SS at the next level. Probably a lot of Second Base and Outfield.

I recall Gurriel had a strong start in AA last year also, 5 for 12 in 1st three games, 4 of them doubles

 

I'm still pessimistic about the guy being anything more than a benchwarmer

Yeah he's certainly not a slam dunk but he's really hard to get a read on due to his age and missing a whole season due to immigration issues. This is a huge year for him. Would love to see him develop into a solid 2 WAR player who can play almost anywhere.
