Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted April 11, 2018 Posted April 11, 2018 Lourdes Gurriel is off to a hot start which is encouraging.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted April 11, 2018 Author Posted April 11, 2018 Lourdes Gurriel is off to a hot start which is encouraging. Yep. Him missing all of 2016 while defecting really hampered him last year
z3r0s Old-Timey Member Posted April 11, 2018 Posted April 11, 2018 nice to see Lourdes playing so well. Hopefully he can develop into that super utility guy everyone was hoping for, even if the arrival is delayed.

I feel like his D is going to be poor anywhere on the dirt and the bat is going to be just okay (90-105 wRC+ range).

That would probably make him a decent bench player. I haven't heard much about his defense? Is it actually bad?

G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted April 11, 2018 Posted April 11, 2018 We have a pitcher named Jose Fernandez in our system?
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted April 11, 2018 Posted April 11, 2018 15 errors in 50 games at SS/2nd last year. Thanks but doesn't tell me a whole lot.
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted April 11, 2018 Posted April 11, 2018 15 errors in 50 games at SS/2nd last year. That could have more to do with how much time he missed playing both defecting and injuries. Apparently he has good hands and good actions but I doubt he will play much SS at the next level. Probably a lot of Second Base and Outfield.
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted April 11, 2018 Posted April 11, 2018 I recall Gurriel had a strong start in AA last year also, 5 for 12 in 1st three games, 4 of them doubles I'm still pessimistic about the guy being anything more than a benchwarmer

This is a huge year for him. Would love to see him develop into a solid 2 WAR player who can play almost anywhere.
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted April 11, 2018 Posted April 11, 2018 Thanks but doesn't tell me a whole lot. Best I can do since I'm in Wasaga Beach and don't subscribe to MiBL. I'll see myself out.
