gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted March 4, 2018 Posted March 4, 2018 Breslow f***ing suxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Yep, can't see him making the opening day roster. Also, we may see Biagini as the fifth starter with Garcia in Buffalo providing depth.

gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted March 5, 2018 Posted March 5, 2018 Garcia is not opening the season in AAA. Probably not since he signed a guaranteed MLB deal, albeit nothing lucrative. As far as value goes, he'll have no business starting over Biagini, especially after the Oh signing.
King Old-Timey Member Posted March 5, 2018 Posted March 5, 2018 Only in Grubers world does Jaime Garcia have no business starting over Joe Biagini. What a dumbass!

Captain Adama Old-Timey Member Posted March 5, 2018 Posted March 5, 2018 It wouldn't be spring training without a great Gruber prediction.

G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted March 5, 2018 Posted March 5, 2018 Bigger ass - Gibby or Vlad Jr?
Captain Adama Old-Timey Member Posted March 5, 2018 Posted March 5, 2018 We need a more appropriate comparison, do a side-by-side of the AA gif walking into the ST complex 3 years ago with Vlad.

Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted March 6, 2018 Posted March 6, 2018 Too bad this game isn't on MLB.TV... near full opening day roster, and all those top prospects on the Braves, would've been the best of 2 worlds! Wilner and Wagner calling the game. That was a funny story before the game, lol.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted March 6, 2018 Posted March 6, 2018 Looks like Diaz is backup SS. Watch the Tulo injury be a blessing in disguise and Diaz gets back to a .800 OPS. That's the plan, lol
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted March 6, 2018 Posted March 6, 2018 Looks like Diaz is backup SS. Watch the Tulo injury be a blessing in disguise and Diaz gets back to a .800 OPS. That would be incredible for the future of this ball club.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted March 6, 2018 Posted March 6, 2018 (edited) Diaz makes a fantastic play, Acuna beats it out. Beeg on the bump... good inning finishing off the batter for 3 outs with a swinging strike. Diaz lines out to 8 Solarte grounds out 5-3 JD walks Smoak flies out to deep right. 1st Inning over. Beeg... gave up a sac-fly scoring run cause of 2 WP's after a basehit with another swinging K Martin FO 6 Morales K's swinging. Grichuk K's swinging. End of 2nd Inning. Beeg... gives up a lead-off double. Nice snag on a liner to Diaz, almost doubles off the runner himself. K might as well do both sides... Another swinging K to end the half. Pillar lines out to SS Teo hits a dinger... tie ballgame. Diaz FO 9 Solarte GO 6-3... 3rd Inning over, tie game at 1. Beeg hits batter, man on. 2 run homer. 3-1 Bad Guys! Beeg struggling with FB command today, that's what my scouting ear tells me. Swinging K Beeg getting pulled. 3.1 IP, 3 ER, 4 hits, 0 BB's and 5 K's all swinging. Luis Santos in... K swinging FO 9 to end the half. Biagini pitched quite well, considering he was spiking so many fastballs in the dirt. 2 WP's and a HBP... plus Martin saved at least two more. JD basehit through the infield to LF. Gift PR's Smoak flies out to shallow Left. Balk... Gift moves to 2nd Martin FO 7 Morales FO to deep Right... end of 4th inning. 3-1 Braves. Mayza leads off the 5th with giving up a bomb to the Bad guys! 4-1 Braves. 1st run given up by Mayza. 5-3, 1 away. FO 8 Gift makes a pretty play 5-3 to end the half. Grichuk with a rip up the middle. Pillar hits into a 4-6-3 DP. Teo FO 6. Inning over 4-1 Braves. Alburquerque on the bump... HR... given up 5-1 Braves. I think that's the first run given up by him. K swinging. FO 3 FO 8... to end the half. 5-1 ATL. Diaz GO 6-3 Solarte K's swinging Gift K's swinging to end the inning. 5-1 down. Girodo on the bump... K swinging K swinging 4-3 end of half. 5-1 Braves. Smoak K's swinging Pentecost GO 6-3 Morales GO 4-3 to end the 7th. Rowley on the bump... FO 7 Basehit to right. Basehit to CF... Rowley's ticketed himself to Buffalo. K swinging. K swinging to end the half. Alford FO 8 Pompey rips a basehit up the middle. Fields basehit up the middle, 1st and 2nd. Gurriel K's swinging Lopes 6-4 FC to end the 8th inning. Romano on the bump... FO 8 FO 9 K looking. Ends the half of the last... 5-1 Braves Gift K's on a foul tip. Leblewtf... Walks Pentecost FO 9 Kendry's GO 4-3 Game Over 5-1 Braves. The Beeg was okay, pretty wild, but the line wouldn't suggest it. Teo hit a bomb into the wind, and the MIF played well, game facts. Oh, BP wasn't all that sharp. I don't understand the dislike with Wilner Broadcasting. He's good at it, must be the after hours show. I SAID GOOD DAY!!! Edited March 6, 2018 by Spanky99

Considering Diaz has five more years of control, that would be amazing. I don't expect Tulo to play much at all this season (he's damaged goods and toast as a hitter) so Diaz will get plenty of opportunities.

Maybe insurance will pay a bit of his salary.
