Not sure that this has been discussed yet but the Denver Post reported that Pillar was a "trade possibility" to the Rockies. I would love to see Smoak, Pillar, Stroman and Sanchez dealt.

I would be ok with all of the above, just make a team take on Morales and or Martin as part of the deal.

If someone offers you Gray for Pillar, you accept immediately before they sober up.

Interview with Atkins, included. Also love this quote...

An agent, unprompted, on Blue Jays president and CEO Mark Shapiro. “Just give him time. What he’s doing is going to work.”

Great quote. We can see it all coming together.

I wonder how many fans would hate to trade Sanchez because he's been a successful starting pitcher once in his entire professional career. I'd be completely open to moving Stroman and Sanchez. I don't think you can even pencil Sanchez is an a starting pitcher going into 2019 with the recent injury issues.

You definitely pencil him in as a starting pitcher. Given he's a Boras client and the fact we aren't competing this year, I'm perfectly fine with moving Sanchez (and/or Stroman) if we can get decent value for them. If not, try again at the deadline and hope they have a good first half.

I don't want to make an long-term commitment to either of them at this point, so I'd trade them both. And given their recent performance and injury history, I'm not even sure I think we'd be tangibly worse if we traded them and replaced them with like Cahill and Fiers or something.

I don't understand why we would keep Stroman/Sanchez. They're both not re-signing here and who cares who pitches next year if we're tanking. Just sign Mike Fiers five times.

SD and CIN are both ready to blow their brains out for starting pitching.

I don't think we are going to get much for Sanchez as its his walk year and he has been dealing with issues the last two. I don't know what the right answer is regarding him but if teams are not going to offer you anything more than a few wild cards then it may make more sense to hold on to him..... I just don't see how we get much of anything for him at this point.

Trade Sanchez to the Braves for Gohara. AA had a man crush on Sanchez, and Gohara's stock has dropped a bit while Atlanta has a billion other pitching prospects.

Even I don't think AA is that stupid, despite Gohara's recent issues, he's still a consensus Top 100 prospect.

I don't know..... look at your Avatar then look at R.A Dickey and think maybe he is.

Sanchez would be worth more nearer to this season’s trade deadline if he pitches relatively well the first few months, with arguably the same true for Stroman too.

Trading either now is selling low unless some team makes a crazy offer.

That's how I see it, who knows though.

That's a big IF for Sanchez.

Sure he could pitch well for the first few months.

Or....he could pitch like s***/get injured/both. His value then goes even more down the shitter.

Given his recent history, what do you think is more likely?

I'd rather the gamble on getting a better return, how much lower can his value drop?

I'm sure Shatkins will make the right choice, he did put their names out there.

He doesn’t even need to pitch particularly well to increase his value, he basically hasn’t played injury free for 2 years and his value is very low right now.
