Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted August 31, 2018 Posted August 31, 2018 I wonder if the Jays can get a return of value near the 75-80 pick they'd receive when JD turns down the QO, sure doesn't sound like he wants to stick around? Doesn't sound like the Jays want to risk giving up 18 million either with a roster crunch left behind. They could always trade him tonight as a PTBNL with stipulations depending on how he performs the rest of the way and into the post-season, meh... who knows, I guess I could be dreaming...
baubau Verified Member Posted August 31, 2018 Posted August 31, 2018 Ken Rosenthal reports that the Brewers are after Granderson. He'd be a nice fit and deserves to play for a contender. I'd let him go for a bag of balls. That Hi-u-Ra kid looks interesting. I'd say that's fair value for a veteran leadership/bench bat. GET ER DONE SHAMPKINS.
Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted August 31, 2018 Posted August 31, 2018 Board overlord Spanky99 has already established that Granderson will not be traded. Please do not violate this rule again, thank you. - BJMB Moderation Team Never said he wouldn't idjit!

No one can replace Mune. No one! Also I change my mind. I don't want him anymore. His face reminds me of Boxy too much:

SaskJaysFan_2 Verified Member Posted September 1, 2018 Posted September 1, 2018 Is there a free site that provides souting reports, FV, for prospects? Mark Leiter Jr. seems really meh, but it'd be nice to get a scouting reports on all MiLB players.

Carlos Danger Old-Timey Member Posted September 1, 2018 Posted September 1, 2018 When is Drury expected back in the line-up?
Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted September 1, 2018 Posted September 1, 2018 At least the Birds gave Smith a cup of coffee in the show.
Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted September 1, 2018 Posted September 1, 2018 When is Drury expected back in the line-up? When his broken hand heals, lol. End of September's possible.
Slade Old-Timey Member Posted September 1, 2018 Posted September 1, 2018 When is Drury expected back in the line-up? Time line was 4-6 weeks and it's only been 3 weeks.
AGL_91 Verified Member Posted September 2, 2018 Posted September 2, 2018 What’s the starting rotation going to look like next year? More of less took this season off from following the jays
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted September 2, 2018 Posted September 2, 2018 What’s the starting rotation going to look like next year? More of less took this season off from following the jays Stroman, Borucki, Reid Foley, and 2 FA signings The FA signings mainly to eat innings and hopefully move for younger assets at the deadline
Carlos Danger Old-Timey Member Posted September 2, 2018 Posted September 2, 2018 Don't know, but Pannone is in the pen. I was thinking the Marlins are going with a 6 man rotation for September. We should too. Give the kid more chances to start. Estrada is in FA year and not coming back.. As of now: Stroman, Sanchez, Borucki, Reid- Foley, Possibly Gaviglio is in the mix also.
Carlos Danger Old-Timey Member Posted September 2, 2018 Posted September 2, 2018 Stroman, Borucki, Reid Foley, and 2 FA signings The FA signings mainly to eat innings and hopefully move for younger assets at the deadline Did you forget about Senor Blister?

More of less took this season off from following the jays Most likely Sanchez, Stroman, Borucki, Reid-Foley, and a reclamation project we can flip at the deadline if they pitch well. Maybe they give Pannone the 5th spot, but I think it'll be someone outside the organization. We're realistically probably a year away from filling it internally.

I don't understand why Pannone is in the bullpen? Estrada has been bad all year, lets give Pannone a shot.
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted September 2, 2018 Posted September 2, 2018 Gaviglio might be in the mix to start too, but I'd rather see him replace Biagini as a long relief guy.
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted September 2, 2018 Posted September 2, 2018 Did you forget about Senor Blister? Of course not. He's better suited for the pen. Closer. Less chance of blister forming during short outings.

They really should sign a proper free agent. The team isn’t going to be terrible, and a reliable vet could help the next 2-3 years. I’d love to see Keuchel brought in.

I'd rather sign a couple of E-Jax types to 1 year deals, rather than encumber salary on multi year deals. Save that for when the Jays are on the cusp.

Save that for when the Jays are on the cusp. Meh. I don’t want every spot after Stroman being a massive question mark. I see value in being respectable as the kids start breaking in, and even someone like Happ would be a big help with that.
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted September 2, 2018 Posted September 2, 2018 Keuchel wouldn't interrupt that, he said 2-3 years? Keuchel is 31 and putting up solid numbers. He's not signing for 2-3

Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted September 2, 2018 Posted September 2, 2018 Now that's a better argument, lol. E-Jax, Happ at his age would be 1 year or 2 year at most deals. Respectability shouldn't be the idea anyway, it's getting guys that would be of value to contenders at the deadline.

I see value in being respectable as the kids start breaking in, and even someone like Happ would be a big help with that. I'd say someone like Eovaldi would be a good target. Probably doesn't get more than 3 years, and would slot in well behind Sanchez and Stroman.
