Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted June 23, 2018 Posted June 23, 2018 Holy s***, everyone is going to be stunned that Trout has produced more value than another baseball player! Mindblowing.
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted June 23, 2018 Posted June 23, 2018 So Estrada is good again? PS experienced starter, or reliever for a team with no SP need
bones10 Old-Timey Member Posted June 24, 2018 Posted June 24, 2018 Borucki is getting called up, what can we expect?
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted June 24, 2018 Posted June 24, 2018 Borucki is getting called up, what can we expect? Hopefully something good, at least he gets his ears wet, he starts Tuesday right?
bones10 Old-Timey Member Posted June 24, 2018 Posted June 24, 2018 Hopefully something good, at least he gets his ears wet, he starts Tuesday right? aye, Tuesday Astros thrown right into the s***
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted June 24, 2018 Posted June 24, 2018 Borucki is getting called up, what can we expect? Low 90s. Good changeup. Has to hit his spots to be effective. Breaking stuff just ok.
MarcoSanchez Verified Member Posted June 25, 2018 Posted June 25, 2018 So Estrada is good again? PS experienced starter, or reliever for a team with no SP need I hope the buyers market heats up. We need the mariners to crash, so that other AL teams have an incentive. Their games over 500 is greater than their run differential.
glory Old-Timey Member Posted June 25, 2018 Posted June 25, 2018 There are some teams that are trying to break some playoff droughts (Seattle, Milwaukee, Atlanta, Angels) and then a team like the Nats who will lose Harper in the winter and may want to see if they can win with him before he leaves. I'm sure the big 4 in the AL will look for upgrades as well. There should be a decent amount of buyers. Whether we get anything good is another story, but hopefully between Happ, Estrada, Grandy, Pearce, and a reliever or two, we can add some good depth to the system.
MarcoSanchez Verified Member Posted June 25, 2018 Posted June 25, 2018 We can get to .500 by the trade deadline, and Seattle could be a few games over by the trade deadline. We could be buyers yet.
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted June 25, 2018 Posted June 25, 2018 In 42 games Jose Bautista has more WAR than any other position player that we have except for Teoscar with whom he is tied.

That doesn't surprise me at all. Hes actually looked quite good in limited bats. Hes hitting balls much harder than last year as well.
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted June 25, 2018 Posted June 25, 2018 Very very small sample size but DRS has liked his defense in LF and RF too.
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted June 26, 2018 Posted June 26, 2018 Donaldson hurt his calf again, will be re-evaluated in 3 weeks. FFS at this point he might not even get claimed on waivers because of his salary.

Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted June 26, 2018 Posted June 26, 2018 We honestly have no choice but to hold onto him and try to resign him now. He won't be ready to play before the deadline with that timeline.
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted June 26, 2018 Posted June 26, 2018 Lol its gotten to the point where he might actually accept the QO. I can't see him getting more than 3/75 this offseason unless he comes back and puts up a 160 wRC+ and looks healthy.

Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted June 26, 2018 Posted June 26, 2018 Glad we didn't trade him. This is much better.
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted June 26, 2018 Posted June 26, 2018 His best hope is that he goes ape s*** in August and September. And if we can get over .500 by the All-Star break and the Mariners continue to slide. Could be involved in a wild card race.
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted June 26, 2018 Posted June 26, 2018 I'd be fine with that. Question will the FO/Rogers be? The Jays have access to a bunch more medical info so maybe they think he's too worn down.
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted June 26, 2018 Posted June 26, 2018 Glad we didn't trade him. This is much better. Yeah Jack Flaherty wouldn't even make a difference on this team.
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted June 26, 2018 Posted June 26, 2018 The frustrating is part we probably could have got Jack Flaherty in a trade with the Cardinals. Who was on the outside looking in to start the season and they were also higher on Alex Reyes to join the rotation if he stayed health. Now we couldn't get a prospect of that calibre and we are looking at compensation pick at best.

bones10 Old-Timey Member Posted June 26, 2018 Posted June 26, 2018 Soooo no way he gets traded at this point i guess.

He's probably thinking he should have resigned with whatever number Shatkins gave him before the season. And I doubt the offers were that high for him anyway. Moose was coming off a 38 homer season and signed for 6.5 mil. Not sure why a team would give up a lot for a 22 million dollar season from Donaldson.
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted June 26, 2018 Posted June 26, 2018 Do you actually believe that's a realistic possibility? The Donaldson going ape s*** part. Yes if hes healthy. But no I think this team is already out of it and holding onto assets would be a train wreck. I was trying to be optimistic lol.
xposbrad Verified Member Posted June 26, 2018 Posted June 26, 2018 At least the Shatkins gamble of holding onto him for a better deal this year worked out well, real well..

burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted June 26, 2018 Posted June 26, 2018 There's a 1% chance that Shatkins and the High Performance Training Staff have engineered some sort of program designed to perpetually injure Donaldson so we can re-sign him for a fraction of what he would have got and then enjoy 5 straight years of 4 WAR baseball from him. I think I read that this year he trained on his own program because the previous year he wasn't happy with training team.
