Yeah he's no longer needed. With Gurriel and Diaz both on the roster there are two SS's and now that Urena is healthy he can fulfill the shitbag MIF with options role. I'm glad the FO DFA'd him and not someone else. Even Luis Santos is better.

I don't think it is until September and then again in late April in order to get an extra year of control. A year of control for that guy in his prime could be worth ~$60 million, maybe more.

I think Gurriel is better than him at this point. Way better defender and pretty close to the same offensive player.

Sounds like good roster management to me. Plus we could use some more speed on the roster. If he can contribute a little bit with the bat that would be a bonus. He also can play all 3 Outfield positions unlike Dwight Smith Jr who is limited to a corner.

Mid 90s sinker, used to be an extreme groundball guy, had a bit of a strikeout boost last year in limited time. Probably not that good but worth a try, projection isn't the worst.
