Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted March 10, 2018 Posted March 10, 2018 Wow Twins get Lynn for nothing I think I like Jaime at 1/8 more than Lynn at 1/12-14.
Captain Adama Old-Timey Member Posted March 10, 2018 Posted March 10, 2018 I think I like Jaime at 1/8 more than Lynn at 1/12-14. Same, and Garcia comes without the loss of a draft pick.

glory Old-Timey Member Posted March 11, 2018 Posted March 11, 2018 Posters here were ready to drop 3-4 years for Lynn, and he gets 1/12. Lol. Damn the market has cratered.
Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted March 11, 2018 Posted March 11, 2018 Cobb will be next, roughly at that amount. I believe that was Lynn's rate around 15 IIRC?

Yeah, he and Cobb were expected multiple years at that money, next year will be quite interesting. Also he'll get 14 barring injury, the 2 million is likely innings.
saskjayfan Old-Timey Member Posted March 11, 2018 Posted March 11, 2018 given the way the free agent market has gone our 1 year 13 mil contract with Estrada seems like a bit of an overpay. I'm not sure how you could have predicted this market though and I expect Estrada to have a great year.
CraigG Verified Member Posted March 11, 2018 Posted March 11, 2018 Do people actually believe teams want Bautista? They'd have to be a holy kind of stupid.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted March 11, 2018 Posted March 11, 2018 If you're running the Padres and you gave Eric f***ing Hosmer that much money only to watch guys like Moose and LoMo sign for (combined) less than one year of Hosmer... aren't you literally blowing your brains out right now? The smart Padres fans can only hope.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted March 11, 2018 Posted March 11, 2018 Do people actually believe teams want Bautista? They'd have to be a holy kind of stupid. The way things are going, I'd be surprised if Jose gets more than 2 million.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted March 11, 2018 Posted March 11, 2018 Between MLB worried about the next TV contract value and the players probably putting up a case for collusion. Does this make a 2021 strike all but a sure thing?

Does this make a 2021 strike all but a sure thing? I don't think that's necessarily the case. If teams spend on the FA group next year, the concerns will likely be reduced. If not, a strike would definitely be a probability.

Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted March 11, 2018 Posted March 11, 2018 I wish Shatkins could have gone to management and asked for more money to cash in on some of these value deals.

AledmysDiaz Verified Member Posted March 11, 2018 Posted March 11, 2018 Poor Phillies. Just when they were about to be okay again they are going to spend a wad of cash on a pitcher in his late prime.

AledmysDiaz Verified Member Posted March 11, 2018 Posted March 11, 2018 Yeah... because Arrieta suxxxxxxxxxxxxx Its 3/75 so it's not a bad deal at all i thought it would be 5/140 At 94 mph he is an ace At 92 he is medioacre tbh. Still a good pitcher. I never said he suxx. My only point was that if Biagini has the some of the same metrics then he doesn't suck. Horrible contract for Boras and all his big talk.

BTS Community Moderator Posted March 12, 2018 Posted March 12, 2018 Yankees scoop Neil Walker up for 1 year 5M while the Jake McGees of the world are getting deals for 3/27. This market doesn't seem rational at all.
