The Yankees are built the way the Jays want to build their team. Don't know why people hate them. I mean, I get it, it's the freaking Yankees, but the team itself is built around drafting and great trades. In fact, they've made an effort to purposely go below the lux tax, so they are not even buying talent anymore. It's straight up good GM'ing by Cashman.

 

I wouldn't mind the Yankees making the WS. Just lose to the Dodgers.

It's a fair point. The Yankees have a ton of homegrown talent.

There really aren't any massive free agents, at least no more than any other playoff contender.

The Jays look like they are not going to rebuild any time soon, and the Yankees are an example of a team who avoided a rebuild on purpose and still came away with a great young team. That 2015 team that hosted the WC game had one starting position player under the age of 30 (Didi). Now look at them.
