EdwinsParrot Old-Timey Member Posted September 24, 2017 Posted September 24, 2017 Thanks for the memories Joey Bats
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted September 24, 2017 Posted September 24, 2017 Classy moment all around. That was one hell of a run Jose, from journeyman to one of the best players in Toronto Blue Jays franchise history. We'll miss seeing him at his best.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted September 24, 2017 Posted September 24, 2017 Also, holy s*** Osuna. The Yankees didn't stand a chance.
Captain Adama Old-Timey Member Posted September 24, 2017 Posted September 24, 2017 That whole inning gave me goosebumps.
glory Old-Timey Member Posted September 24, 2017 Posted September 24, 2017 Damn I missed this one. Hope a full video pops up for the curtain call.

bones10 Old-Timey Member Posted September 25, 2017 Posted September 25, 2017 Bautista's tying home run in the ALCS Game 6 really was incredible, that game still makes me queasy thinking about it. Would of love to seem him come to the plate bases loaded after Donaldson tied it with two outs...
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted September 25, 2017 Posted September 25, 2017 Judge looked like he got jammed a little on that pitch and still hit it out. Probably wouldn't have hit it out a year and a half ago.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted September 25, 2017 Posted September 25, 2017 Probably wouldn't have hit it out a year and a half ago. I find it difficult to believe Aaron Judge is benefiting from the juiced balls very much. He hits the ball pretty hard.

And yes, Judge is a behemoth!!! I wonder if the home run problem with the balls is the material, rather than the seams? I remember the issues a long time ago in Colorado with the humidor, etc. Maybe the new balls don't absorb moisture like the old ones did (meaning all balls were like the ones in Coors). If MLB tests at low humidity, they might not see a significant difference in the characteristics.

The following is a really good article from June regarding testing of baseballs: https://www.theringer.com/2017/6/14/16044264/2017-mlb-home-run-spike-juiced-ball-testing-reveal-155cd21108bc

It was fantastic, thanks for sharing. Although I do think I've sped through this before, likely your link. That was very informative, thanks. I've always knew this(below), but didn't think they were that far advanced to public knowledge, cool s***, mate. (MLB teams have had access to exit velocity and launch-angle data since at least 2009, but Statcast’s high profile since its full rollout in 2015 has raised public and player awareness of those metrics’ existence and value.)
