It was the right call. The rubber that splashed out from the sides was the only thing that appeared to touch the line. Sucks though.

 

I didn't see green in between the line and the ball though. The ball was clearly mostly in the green but I couldn't tell if was completely in the green.

Bad PR outrage for letting Bautista walk will be negligible

I hope the rumor that Rogers told the front office to sign Bautista isn't true. That's kind of scary if it is. Cost the team a comp pick and forced the fans to watch a franchise legend deteriorate before our eyes.

It seems like he's been intentionally trying to use more of the field. You don't see the violent pulling of the ball he did in the past. I'd like to see him get back to what was working in the past.

Yeah it was overturned after replay. Very very close play. Ball slicing down the left field line and when it landed it was mostly the black turf pellets that flew up. Didn't see any chalk. But I didn't see any green in between the ball and the line either. It was probably foul but I'm just not sure they had enough evidence to overturn it. Most here think they got it right though.

Does a September call up count towards their mlb service year? For example if they called up Vlad, which they won't, does that start his MLB time? I'm sure the Jays want to delay that start as much as they can similar to how the Cubs did Bryant.
