Maahfaace Verified Member Posted August 9, 2017 Posted August 9, 2017 Might as well, me and Spanky might be the only ones watching tonight
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted August 9, 2017 Posted August 9, 2017 Well there goes all that hard work last inning
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted August 9, 2017 Posted August 9, 2017 Well, at least they're solo shots.
Maahfaace Verified Member Posted August 9, 2017 Author Posted August 9, 2017 how many more Jays shitballer starts we going to be exposed to this year? Just think, we replace those with semi competent starts and the Jays are probably leading the 2nd WC spot
Maahfaace Verified Member Posted August 10, 2017 Author Posted August 10, 2017 Smoak homer would be nice here
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted August 10, 2017 Posted August 10, 2017 So I haven't been on here enough to get a reading, but what's the general opinion on Donaldson's future here? Extension or trade?
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted August 10, 2017 Posted August 10, 2017 So I haven't been on here enough to get a reading, but what's the general opinion on Donaldson's future here? Extension or trade? Possibly neither.
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted August 10, 2017 Posted August 10, 2017 Possibly neither. Don't tell me. Repeat of EE?
o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted August 10, 2017 Posted August 10, 2017 Pillar is a big f***ing dead end sign to any rally
Maahfaace Verified Member Posted August 10, 2017 Author Posted August 10, 2017 It must be getting to Pillar's head that he can't hit worth of s*** with RISP, anyone know if he's entering into all time worst territory for that category in a season with say 100 PA? It's gotta be close
wk680 Verified Member Posted August 10, 2017 Posted August 10, 2017 Don't tell me. Repeat of EE? This seems like a very real possibility if the Jays FO and ownership are intent on keeping 'the window' open for 1 more year in 2018 and they are in contention for a post-season spot by the 2018 trade deadline.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted August 10, 2017 Posted August 10, 2017 Don't tell me. Repeat of EE? Maybe not even that. If they feel Guerrero is ready, they might just take the pick and be happy. Assuming they really do think we'll compete next year, then I can't see him traded either. It'll be interesting to see. They could also potentially get a bridge guy for a year (like Beltre if he's still good then?)
o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted August 10, 2017 Posted August 10, 2017 oh s***... did Donaldson aggravate his thumb again?

So then is it a "loser" mentality to think we should trade him for whatever we can get? We should think instead do just settle with a pick? I still feel new to this whole "compete every year" concept and having a competent FO lol
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted August 10, 2017 Posted August 10, 2017 oh s***... did Donaldson aggravate his thumb again? Might be a wrist

Still, it really is a tough call to make.
o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted August 10, 2017 Posted August 10, 2017 Might be a wrist don't want him getting hurt now that he's finally coming into form offensively

But this year has given me a good lesson on depreciating assets

But this year has given me a good lesson on depreciating assets I think it also depends what it would take to extend him. Anything over $120M guaranteed would be be too risky for a guy showing signs of physical decline. But if he would take that contract and assuming the Jays don't get a trade offer that knocks their socks off, they may want to keep him. He is clearly a face of the franchise, and definitely the face in the absence of Bautista.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted August 10, 2017 Posted August 10, 2017 This dude just hit a f***ing mammoth and of course it goes foul.
bones10 Old-Timey Member Posted August 10, 2017 Posted August 10, 2017 this lopez guy has pretty gawdy numbers in triple A this season... but hes 29, whats his deal?
