jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2017 Posted July 31, 2017 I'm scouting the waiver wire in the LOD as we speak preparing to add whichever OF the Astros plan on giving the Jays.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2017 Posted July 31, 2017 Myles Straw. Just looked up an outfield from Sickels top prospect list at random. That's my guess. It'll most likely be someone on the 40 man.
Slade Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2017 Posted July 31, 2017 Teoscar Hernandez another possibility. Would take that in a heart beat.

Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2017 Posted July 31, 2017 I was about to comment on how well turning Hutch into McGuire, Ramirez, + whatever jabroni we get here worked out. Then I looked up the numbers and pretty much everyone involved in this sequence of moves is terrible now. +1. The guys we got from Pittsburgh are awful. But then again, most lottery tickets are losers....the guy we get for Liriano will probably also be a loser. However, buying a lottery ticket is always fun.

Eh, even though Hutch sucks, and Liriano was crap this season, I think they still did pretty well. Added some depth to the farm system for pretty much nothing and took a reasonable gamble with Liriano that worked in '16 and flopped in '17.

jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2017 Posted July 31, 2017 And this is why the LOD is the best. Actually none of those outfielders we named as possible targets are available. My great plan is ruined.

Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2017 Posted July 31, 2017 Rival execs saying Jays may be paying some of Liriano's for a better return I'm down for that Makes perfect sense.
Slade Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2017 Posted July 31, 2017 That's cool, we're not looking for salary relief so if paying money gets us better prospects I'm good with that.
glory Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2017 Posted July 31, 2017 "Rival execc saying Jays may be paying some of Liriano's for a better return" I'm down for that They should. Team isn't strapped for cash. If anything, that's the one advantage they have in trades. Just eat up salary for everyone except Smith and get a better return, even if it's marginal.

I was just legit surprised at how bad McGuire and Ramirez have been, and Liriano has been a dumpster fire. Trade looked like a complete heist for awhile, but it looks like Pittsburgh had a read on their guys.

Captain Adama Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2017 Posted July 31, 2017 Definitely getting Derek Fisher
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2017 Posted July 31, 2017 Probably Teoscar Hernandez if the Jays are kicking in money to get a better return.

glory Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2017 Posted July 31, 2017 Aoki is probably for salary reasons. Wonder who the minor leaguer is.
jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2017 Posted July 31, 2017 Does taking Nori Aoki increase the chance of getting a better prospect? lol
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2017 Posted July 31, 2017 I'm buying a Nori Aoki jersey this week!
Maine Jays Verified Member Posted July 31, 2017 Posted July 31, 2017 If the minor leaguer is Reed, this won't seem quite so bad
